The Privilege of Prayer

One woman writes: "Our prayer life is changing...we are learning to pray deeply and according to the Spirit's direction...I want to praise God for drawing us closer to Himself through prayer!"

Across our country more and more moms are discovering a new dimension of prayer. They are awed by a sense of honor and privilege in prayer. They have been called by God to speak His heart and will into the darkness that covers our school system. He has raised up Mothers Who Care for this explicit purpose.

At a time when there are crises of major proportions assailing every segment of society and insecurities about the future abound, a cross-current of hope and promise is warming the hearts of God's people. He is pouring out a spirit of prayer, inspiring His offspring to call on Him, to seek His face, to humble themselves and pray for His will to be done.

Prayer has traditionally been perceived by Christians as a necessary, even obligatory, part of our relationship with God. What has been lacking in our perspective on prayer has been the joy, the adventure, the power and the privilege of prayer!
God, in His desire to communicate with the objects of His love, instituted prayer. Through prayer His primary plan is to communicate His heart with ours. "Call to Me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things which you have not known."

His desire is that we see, understand and share His heart. This is the privilege of prayer - to comprehend and agree with the heart, the desire and will of our Father!!

A MWC group leader said; "I encouraged our group to allow the Holy Spirit to drop into our hearts what He wants us to pray for and, wow, you could feel the difference. I'm so very encouraged!! God's presence is awesome!! I'm so honored to be a part of this ministry!"

How sad it is and how robbed we are when we use prayer for our own limited purposes. Prayer was not intended to be simply a litany of complaints or a shopping list of desires, even though God graciously listens to these. Prayer extends to us the opportunity to know our Father. What a privilege!!

Not everyone is called to pray for our school system but we are all called to the privilege of prayer - to know and pray the heartbeat of God.
