Default Re: Collect calls from inside

The cost of collect calls varies from State to State and county to county. I know that when my man calls me it cost me $6.75 for 15 minutes. If he calls his mom it is only $3.75 for 15 minutes.
So I guess you need to also factor in your location. I think the best way for you to find out would be to ask the jail/prison who they use (Buisness) for the inmates to make their calls. I know that in WV they mostly use a company called " Correctional Billing".

I hope that this helps.

MCI blocks calls from a lot of Federal Prisons now.. They told me they used to be the provider and changed that. Correctional Billing Services will let you set up a prepaid account. With a minimum ammount of $50.00, you'll get an automated call when your account goes down to about $20.00. From Mass to Conn it was close to $15.00 a call. It's easier and much cheaper to send the money to him (about $8.00 less per call) and have him dial you directly. Hope it helps.

I am in California, and my fiance is in a county facility that uses Evercom. I know that the rates are different depending on where you are and how far you are from the facility. For ex. I live 5 miles from the jail, and I pay $3.65 per 15 minute call. His mom lives about 65 miles away, and she pays about $7 per call, his brother lives about 218 miles away, and he pays $9 per call and, my mom... who lives 3414 miles away, in Maine, only pays $2.50 each time he calls her!

It really doesn't make much sense to me, but I suppose they do have Some kind of system. If you have Evercom, try listening to the whole list of options the next time he/she calls. I believe that there is an option to get a rate quote.

I live in NH and my hubby is in ECCF. I got a cell phone and when I was asked the zip I make most my calls to I changed it to the ECCF zip which is 01949. I had to because a collect call was costing me almost 30 dollars for a short period of time! Hope this helps! I am new to the board and am trying to get to know the system

JLK1919 your best bet is to get a local number. My fiance was in a county jail and I go back n forth I live in RI, I had to change my cell number to a MA number just for him to get through, its a pain and men can be a pain but after I did it he was able to reac me anywhere, and our calls were about $6.31 for 1/2 hour. Just do what you think is best not only for him but for YOU!

Default MCI Framingham Phone Calls?

Does anyone know how to set up to receive collect calls from MCI Framingham? I called the jail to find out how to do it the 866 numbers they keep giving me are not working. One tells me to enter my pass code (dont have one) and gives no information on how to get a person (I tried pressing zero with no luck). The other says my call can not be completed as dialed and to call customer service yet no information about a number for customer service. I asked what the name of the comapny was (figured I'd look up the number since they keep givng me the wrong one) and all I was told is its called Inamate Phone System (I cant find info on that).

Jess..does it say if it's evercom or Global Tel Link. You can call Framingham and ask when someone picks up, they'll let you know what system they use and you can go from there. It's frustrating, they just changed my husband from GArdner NCCI to Suffolk County/SouthBay and those were two diferent companies.

If its Evercome, you can just pick any 4 numbers, then it proceeds to asking you for the phone number and credit card number.

Good Luck!
