Default Who is above the warden?

My husband just got his visits suspended for one year. This is not only horrible for him but also for our family. He has two tobacco charges in six months time. I was wondering if anyone knew who I can write a letter to that is above the warden. I know its a long shot, but it is definately worth a try?

I'm not sure, but I think to go above the warden, you will have to contact someone at KDOC in Topeka. I'm not sure how they handle a situation such as this. I suppose you could ask them if there is some sort of grievance process for what you feel is unfair punishement. I hope you don't have to go a whole year without seeing your husband! That does seem a little severe, especially if you have children who need to see their father.

Wishing you the best!

I called Norton Correctional Facility and asked who I would contact and they told me to contact the KDOC-Central Office-Secretary of Corrections. My husband filed an appeal on this stupid decision these holier than whatever jerks made. We have five children all togather and his grandmother is almost 75 and not doing very well. I understand they have a job to do, but come on they really need to get real! Today I am contacting KDOC, I am so nervous!!!

I am thinking that the secretary of corrections would be the top dog. For all state hospitals and SRS facilities it is the Secretary of SRS so that makes sense to me. The only other guess would be the govenor. Let us know what you find out. Good luck.
