Default What do you think?

My husband was sentenced to 3 years probation for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) sometime in July 2007 (I think). He revoked his probation in September 07 (about 3 months into this probation). He sent off for his release date and was shocked last week when he received something saying his good time date is 2/16/2008. That is next month!

The paper said his full time date was in August 2008. We were hoping he'd be paroled in August at the earliest and now he may be getting out next month!

This sounds too good to be true. His dorm rep told him they give you credit for the time you were on probation and he heard they were releasing non-violent first time offenders early because of overcrowding. I just can't let myself believe this.

The thing that worries me is the paper has the Correctional Center logo at the top. It says it's from "Classification" and was signed by the warden's assistant. I thought his release date would come from DOC in Baton Rouge. I just don't know what to think at this point. Does this sound legit? He sent another request for his date to see if he gets the same information. Pray for him!

What Correctional Center is he at? My husband was put on probation for
controlled substance (crack cocaine) in April 2004. His probation was revoked in August 2007. He is at Caldwell Correctional Center. His papers come from DOC in Baton Rouge. This is his first offense and he also hear that they were releasing first time non violent offenders early because of overcrowding. I pray they release him early as well and I pray that your husband comes home to you early. Good Luck. My husband has had trouble with getting his good time put on his rapsheet. He is suppose to get out in Nov. 2008 but they had his first rapsheet he received all messed up and he had to write to DOC in Baton Rouge to get it fixed. We have not heard anything from them yet. Good Luck to you and your man.

He is in Lasalle Correctional Center.

My husband actually doesn't want me to call anybody. He is going to talk to the Warden this week to see if he's getting out next month.

I just did 9 years in system WCI,AVC,,,as inmate lawyer
the issue is that they now have a new good time act. it allows 345 for every 30 days served . After he went back they resentenced him,. So there for he will do 4 months on a year instead of 6 months so don't worry he will come hen and it is fine. Enjoy and make him do right this time Oh full term date is when he will be off parole,,,, Every warden has the option to calculate good time... read the law book , alot of warden don't but are allowed too, in fact Warden Burell Cain could walk any inmate to the gate and release him . He has that power. It is in the R:S: in the Code Of Criminal Procd..
On three years he should do 1 year, He will have 2 on parole. His good time act is 572 as he was sentenced after Aug 2006 and non vilent, so hope that helps
