Welcome to CFT

We are all here to help with any questions that you may have.

Yes...in order to visit you will have to get approved first. Your boyfriend needs to send you a visitor application and you will have to fill it out and send it back. Make sure that he signs the back before he sends it. If he doesnt..and you send it in to be approved...they wont even look at it...so make sure he does that. Also...when filling out the form..make sure you put down any history you may have had with the law. Even if it was when you were a juvenile. They do back ground checks and if they find something that you did not put on your application...that could be a reason for denial. Also make sure that you dont have any FTA's (Failure to Appears) on your record...DMV or otherwise. It can take anywhere from a month or longer to get approved.

CFT does offer programs for the inmates...but its not a facility just for that purpose alone. I do believe that once an inmate is transfered to CTF they will be placed on orientation for about 14 days...I am not positive about that...so if I am wrong...someone please correct me.

The mail can be slow...but then there are times it can get there pretty fast. It depends on the mailroom.

I hope I helped with some of your questions. There are a lot of wonderful ladies that can better help with more detailed information.

Well Welcome To CTF!
Like Butrfly Said.. You Need To Be Approved To Visit.. Your Man Should Be Able To Send You One Soon.. It Takes About 6-8weeks.. Not Including The Day It Was Sent.. Its Starts Counting Off When They Recieve It..
Make Sure its Filled Out truthfully And Correctly...
Any Mistake Can Lead To A Denied To Visit...
Mail Has Its Up And Downs..
Normally It Should Take Around 7-10 Days...
I would Strongly Suggest PostCards.. Seems They Get Them Quicker...
When Something Needs To Be Said..Or Something...
I Do Believe Your Man Has Mainlined...
However I Could Be Mistaken...
Im Not Sure If They Have Reception Areas In CTF...
But If You Ever Want To Talk Feel Free To PM ME...
Oh In Case I Forget.. If You Have Any Questions Regarding Your Loved One,
I Would Encourage You Call The Prison (831)678-3951...

No worries about so many questions...that is what we are all here for...to help

I am not sure how the program works at CTF for phone calls...so hopefully someone can help with that...but the reason the inmates are put on orientation when they arrive there is to classify them. Which means to see what their level is...what yard they should be on etc. It usually only takes a week or so...but like I said...I am not sure if CTF puts the new arrivals on orientation.

My son was also transfer to CTF. North from NKSP, reception. He has been there since the 1st of June. I send in my/boyfriends visiting form on July 8 and last week recieved my boyfriends back due to he forgot to put his DL number. So check the form to insure it is all filled out. This has allowed me to believe that I should be approved soon. Wish is causing me great pain, the waiting in pure h*ll. I have not seen my son in 7 months I did recieved my first phone call last week and let me tell you fireworks went off when I heard his voice, it was wonderful. I don't know much about the prison except it is old and the Training in the name is just that a name, nothing to do with what really happens there, it is a prison just like all the rest. When my son first got transfer I was excited thinking they were sending him to a "training center", not so just a name. I have never been in a prison or even drove pass one so I am really scared about visiting but nothing would stop me from going. I do want to mention that i have read a lot about a car line you must get in to visit. Can anyone out there help me out with this. I don't want anyone to think I am cutting in line, which I have read it cause some problems. Anyway I'm in the same boat has you, know nothing except that's where my son is any help out there would be wonderful and put my mind to easy. GOD Bless

Welcome to CTF

Here is the link from the sticky at the top of the page that might help with the background of the prison.

http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=222843

About the car line. When my husband and I was at Salinas...the car line was very unknown to me. I was lucky that I happen to meet someone that had been doing it already and the first time I had to sleep in the car line i rode with her...so she explained it all to me. Once you go a couple of times...or even the first time...its easy to get the hang of it. Just make sure you go to the end of the line for CTF. If you are unsure of where that is...you can always ask the other ladies. It is better to ask than tp tryi and figure it out and then get caught in the line of fire with the other cars. Trust me...it can get brutal out there. I had never been to a prison either and it can be very nerve racking. You dont know what to expect...but like I said...once you do it a couple of times...it becomes easy. No worries...and I hope you get to see your son soon sweetie.
