Default education in missouri?

I'm looking at some probable prison time very soon and I was wondering what sort of education opportunities there are in the missouri prison system if any.

If there are education programs how do most of them work?
Are they state funded or does the inmates family have to pay for it?

Any and all Information is appreciated.

The only state funded education program is the GED class. Not all prisons have it, but it is required to get if you don't have a HS diploma or GED already.

Other than that, you can take correspondence courses through the mail, but you or your family have to pay for them. There is a forum on here for education that has a large list of opportunities.

Christy is right -- there isn't much. If you are 25 or under, you may qualify for the "youthful offenders program", which gives you access to college credits depending on your lengthof sentence,,,, are you 25 or younger??

I think the youthful offender program is operated on a grant. That would mean, no money needed from you. There are also vocational program, ie: computer training, automotive, construction, electrical, culinary arts. depends on your interest and you have to have a GED/HSD for them
