Oh sweetie don't worry... rejoice in the knowing that you will be getting him very very soon!! I have not yet encountered this personally yet.. (our day is coming ) but I have many of friends who have experienced this wonderfully delightful moment. What they have told me is that their loved one (the inmate) calls them the morning of their release and lets them know what time to be there. Yes you can bring clothes for him to change into so he won't have to go home with the word INMATE stamped across his back. oh and yeah i wanna let you know that when you do get there and you are waiting and the time passes by that he says to be there by don't worry... out-take sometimes take a little longer than expected.. you will get to take him home.

Congratulations. Take a lot of kleenex!

One thing I wish is, that the State would pay for these people to go to a psychiatrist once a week to help them adjust and just to talk. It's the adjustment period that scares me.

In Missouri you can send a set of clothes for him to go home in one month in advance...check with the prison he is in to see what the protocol is. Tracy has been let out as early as six o'clock in the morning and delayed as much as a day due to having to get his bloodwork done again check with the prison and ask them what time he can leave. Most of all relax...

Cool out in March!

my son will be getting out March 11th from JHCC. does anyone know if can you take the clothes up there in person in advance? or do you have to mail them in? There will be so much to do, get SSI reinstated, get drivers license- that will be a pain I'm sure. I hope he gets some type of documentation to prove to DMV he has completed what court required so he can be drivers licsense back. My husband thinks he can get him a job where he works too. it iwll be very busy time. I cant do any of it in advance like he thought, he has to be here for all of it. and whats the deal with owing money AND going to prison? They are telling him he owes like 5,000$ to the court. he says no way..lol. well since he will be on SSI- for brain injury, and only gets 400$ month to live on- they can have a dollar a month I say till hes 80 LOL. how they can expect him to pay that coming out of prison is ridiculous! It'll never happen. its only 70 days now.. I am getting so anxious! I'd like to throw him a party, but dont want to invite any of the old friends.. not sure whos "safe" and who isnt, so maybe just a good steak dinner that night? I'll have to check who has an ' all you can eat' special for that day! LOL anyways, any tips for the release day are welcome. Hope everyone here has a better new Year. maybe not happy, but hopefully improved or just a little stronger.
