My brother is in a gang

Hi, I am having a very hard time dealing with the fact that my brother is in a gang. The only thing he ever writes about is the gang and getting in fights because of the gang. I don't agree with his views and frankly don't even feel comfortable reading the letters he sends. One of his closest friends and our mother have both stopped writting him because of the content in his letters, and he is always asking me to contact them for him and ask them to start writting again. I'm not sure if I should tell him why they don't write, and should I ignore what he tells me even though I'm so against all his new "beliefs"? I am truely struggling and am finding it hard to communicate with him at all because I don't want him to think I'm ok with what he tells me.
