I would pay my son's restitution. How do i do that. Can I pay when i go visit him? I have a money order already made out to him and was told to write (restitution only) in red. I don't want to risk mailing it.

hazelt, if I'm not mistaken (and if I am someone please correct me) you can pay your son's restitution at the county clerks office in the county that your son was convicted in. Or you can go on J-pay and do it electronically, and then like you've said already you can mail it. I normally mail all of my cashier's checks to the "Inmate Trust Funds" officer with a certififed tracking number and I do it priority mail so that I know that it gets there quickly and with the tracking number I have a date as to when it arrived at the facility. I called today and answered my own question. You can only pay restitution by mail. The lady I talked to in accounting was surprisingly nice and helpful. I mailed it certified and I am hoping for the best. It will be nice to have my son's restitution paid off for him so he has one less thing hanging over his head when he finally comes home. It's hard enough for them to make it once they are out as it is.
