My son's transfer has been modified

I went to see Shaun yesterday as I do every other weekend...The first thing he told me was that his transfer had been modified.... Earlier this week I had complained that he was not in the right facility and had not been able to do his programs that were court ordered some 18 months earlier and that he was suppose to be transfered to a facility that did offer his programs..also that he had recieved a letter asking why he had not done these programs well any way after he sent the letter back explaining that his facility did not offer those programs he recieved a letter back stating that since his programs had not been started or finished he would be classed as class 3 felon the worst of the worst I guess you could say. his counslor also recieved the same letter after she had sent them a letter saying that he did not belong where he was and could not get these programs and that he had signed up for every other program that they offered and was turned down to these programs, She brought Shaun in for a meeting on Friday and explained what was going on and that he could appeal these findings ect....Which he is at the cost of the state and that his best bet would to be transfered to the Massachusetts Treatment Facility as the 2 other facilities he had requested had a 18 month waiting period to get into and he was coming up for parole in just 13 months.... Now I had spoken with Shaun about going to the Mass. treatment center before and he just did not want to go there as he had heard horrible things about it and it was so dang far from home ( the mass treatment center used to be where the worst of the worst inmates went and where the criminally insane went ) You can see why he would be afraid to go there. I have been doing research on the treatment center for about 2 years and as the above is still true there are 3 treatment facilities there now and he would be in the 3rd building away from all that scares him and would be with other men that have commited the same crimes that he has and that it is strickley a treatment center for that but as you all know to well jail talk is what he hears and believes and it scares him which in turn scares me

Well Last night as I sat thinking about all this and was getting a sick feeling in my stomach I had a long talk with God and basically gave it all to God as I feel God would not be sending my son some where to hurt him or mame him ect. ect. ect after all I have been praying for God to send him somewhere quickly (His time not mine) to start his programs and take care of Shaun and I do feel better about things today God even let me sleep a whopping 13 hours after this talk I guess his way of say every thing is going to be alright. I did tell Shaun that it was Gods plan and that this option sounded like the best option for him Shaun did agree. But now his fear is that he wont get his weekley visits because it is so far away that is something that I and his brother will work out one way or the other.

The one thing I have learned from "living in prison" is that no matter how much we want to control things we can not. GOD will do what is best. Sleep...I bet it was nice. Let go and Let GOD.

First off I would like to thank you all for your kind and understanding post..

I just got off the phone with Shaun and he has been transfered to the Massachusetts Treatment Center as of this morning and he sounded great just the knowing that he will be getting the help he has been asking for, for the last 3 years is finally going to happen....He is still in processing and tho they do allow visits while processing the visiting hours are a little confussing so he asked for us to not visit until he is thru with that phase We talked more than we normally do on the phone and he kept reminding me that it was a collect call I told him I didn't care it was the first time that the call didn't sound stressed in 3 years

Oh and in case you hadn't noticed I am a HAPPY MOMMY

What an inspiration you always are to others. It is wonderful that when we TRULY put it in God's hands, miracles happen. I have found that when I put it in God's hands and truly have faith that he will take care of it and truly let go to let him do the work, amazing things happen.

I am glad that I have a year to think on the creativity on that one

I am sorry i am so late with a response. However this is awesome news that he is going to get the help he needs and wants! I am soo happy that things are working in his favor. I cant wait until i can count down with you !!!!!

Update: I had written a letter to a gentleman that Shaun knew while in county he is an older gentleman who had taken Shaun under his wing and when shaun was sentenced he had written me to ask if shaun was home or sent up state (In Massachusettes your are sent to reception from the court house ) Well any way I had found out that this man was at the Mass Treatment Center and I wrote him asking about the conditions there as Shaun had heard so many bad things there that he didnt want to go You all know this so I will get to the point.

I recieved a letter yesterday from said gentlemen which stated that Shaun had arrived at the treatment center one hour after my letter to him had arrived and Shaun is in his unit along with a few others that Shaun knew in county.

He told me the programs there are very good and are in done in 4 phases the first 3 are done right there in the unit and the 4th phase is the most intense as there is more counsling and one on one with a counslor and as long as Shaun is honest and does'nt try and coast through he should do very well

Now the best news they are in rooms NO CELLS they are in rooms with 5 other men Yes ladies this is the place my son was so afraid to go to Gee after spending 15 months in a cell 21 out of 24 hours a day by him self this must feel like a stinking vacation resort.

I have not heard from Shaun since the first day he arrived there but have to tell you this it was the first phone call in nearly 3 years that I did'nt have to struggle to hear him over all the noise it was so quite and pleasant a real nice phone call I did'nt even mind that it was a collect call

I really do believe that the Lord put me and this gentlemen on the same path for a reason (((((((((((Hugs)))))))) Angel

This is all fabulous news. I am so glad for your Shaun that he is now where he can get the help he needs and has been requesting for so long. God is indeed wonderful.
