Question New and need help please! (phones)

Hey all! I am new to all of this and I am trying to get a phone account set up. My ex is at ECI...I am in PA. He told me when the time comes (now) he'll tell me what to do with the whole phone thing but I'm trying to get it all set up on my own.

I obviously have a long distance number and it is a cell. I have no land line. He told me there is a way to get calls cheap by possibly changing my # to a local to ECI # or by getting a prepaid from there. Which is easier?? I'm broke as a joke so I am looking for the cheapest option. After looking a little into it I have come up with changing my # to a 410 area code and it will only cost $.54 per call. Is this right???

Also...he said he can set it up so when he calls it can come out of his account $$....does anyone know if that is right or do I have to change my # then call T-Netix and make an account?

Thanks...any help is much appreciated!!!

You can change your cell number to a local number that's out there in westover,MD. I did for a local Hagerstown number without setting a account with cbs. and when my husband calls me it's only 54 cents.

To his account. once he fill out his phone list at the prison where he's at his account is already set up. and if you get one of those pre-paid phone like boost mobile that you pay $50.00 a month where you get unlimited calling you want be charge. he will be charge the .54 cent. so make sure that you get a local number for out there.

I bought a flex pay account with t mobile. I pay 50 a month for my phone. Then I called t netix and put 50 minutes on my phone. The phone has a 443 area code, do I do everything correct? An if so how long does it take to register a phone number at a facility?

Well, you need to make sure your area code and exchange is local to the prison.

I have found a system called vconnect-I am new to this and this was suggested to me. I googled vconnect and found it is owned by Value Added Communications. It is reasonable and works just fine. It allows me to put money on his acct with a credit card or a debit card. So far....works fine
