Post What resources do people in prison have for continuing education?

(Sorry I didn't know where this goes?)

I was wondering if they have those books or something of sort to take an assessment quiz to see what career you should go for...my man's working on his GED and he thinks he wants to do something in Mechanics but he's not sure. I'm trying to encourage him as much as I can.

I received my GED in 2007 and just started school two weeks ago majoring in Child Development. I wanted to work in child care but now since they have me taking Education classes too I've opened my eyes to two careers. Reading Specialist and Health Education.

I've been telling my man that I know so many people who grew up in the "Hood" that feel they were born there and should die there, as in, live by the gun, die by the gun, and whenever they try to do better, people bring them down back to their old ways. Same with ex prisoners. It's much easier to go back to what you know...so I'm just encouraging as much as I can!

I've also thought about how nice it would be to open up a school for Latino's because of how many kids turn to the streets and get ignored due to broken language barriers and such...that's a dream of mine tho.

But yes the question again was what kind of resources do they have in there? I mean I know they have computers but what kind of online stuff can they do?
