Can i get an update on this Carmen. I am in the same boat but my husbands release date is the 8th of October (next week). He already signed to be deported but i am trying to find out what exactly happens when ICE picks him up from the prison. I would like to drop him off clothes and a phone. I called the prison and they said that i can do that once he gets to the ICE office. That he should be going to the one in Houston Tx. But i am wondering if that is the case since he has already signed and agreed to be deported. This happened once before but he was in Austin and the closes ICE office was in San Antonio so that is were he went. They picked him up in the AM and dropped him off in Mexico about 10 hrs later. I just don't know if it will work that way this time. I don't have a passport to go to mexico! So i can't just meet him there. I am so lost! Can anyone give me anymore info?

I can't tell you much but if you have an ID and your Birth C you can go. They are asking for a passport but my friend does not have one yet and she crosses with me all the time. They just send us to the secondary and run her SS# takes a little more time. If you check you will find passports are not a law just what home land security wants. Good luck I hope he comes home safe.

Hi!
He came here in 1998 on a refugee status from Uzbekistan because he was a Jew and was harrassed there non stop. His entire family is here and are all citizens except for him, he took his time applying because he wasent planning on traveling outside the US. Now it's too late. I heard that because he left on a refugee status, this means he ran away and Uzbekistan is considering him to be a traitor and will not accept him back, and even if they do, then as soon as he lands he will be arrested there.
