What do I do for his Birthday?

I need some advice...My Boyfriend's birthday is Nov 21st and he is getting locked up on Dec 01. I have no idea what to get him because anything I get him he won't be able to enjoy until after he does his time (he will be locked up for a year). Anyone have any suggestions?

You could get him a ring...maybe with an inscription on it. He can take that in with him..My boyfrriends b-day is Nov. 24. He is already in, much more difficult to gift!

I would save the money and put it on his account. He will need things to get set up. Paper, stamps, envelops, thermals, whatever. Or just start a savings account for a trip somewhere when he gets out in a year.

mines is nov. 27th(hes already in) and all i can do is write and send a card and some pictures but i would jsut say do soemthing from the heart that he will remember and i think besides the ring like someone said the only thing you could get him that he could bring in with him would be a tattoo... (i could be wrong on that)

And mine is the 26th. So this year I am refusing to be the one who gets up at 5 a.m. to get the turkey going! With 4 adult daughters I thought I would just sit with a bottle of wine and get a bit stupid with my 89 year old mother. She'll out drink me in a heartbeat but it sure would be nice to just veg out for a day!

Sidenote - Did you get birthday parties growing up? All I ever got was cousins and pumpkin pie.

lol.. his was on thanksgiving last year. we just hung out together and i gave him his presents. sadly, for some reason, every one except one of his 6 brothers and sisters forgot it was his bday and didnt even call him or send him a card.. not even his mom or dad i didnt ever bring it up but i was so pissed!
and some years i got parties some years i didnt, but i mostly only remember the years i had parties.
