Question sentence reconsideration/ VA

dont know if this is the right place or not. im trying to find out for my fiance (his lawyers are crap) how he would go about filing a sentence reconsideration in the state of VA. would he just write a letter to the courts. or is there a form?

He needs to file a pro-se motion for re-consideration with the court that sentenced him. There should be someone around his prison/jail that will be able to help him do this.

Standard "form" pro se petitions are rarely successful to any meaningful degree. I have, however, seen attorney quality pro se petitions that were successful. Unfortunately, the inmate law clerks having the wherewithal to draft an attorney quality petition are far and very few between.

If the court appointed attorney said he submitted the request to the judge, would the judge sign off on the request and send it back to the lawyer to prove he submitted it, and should a copy be sent to my son if he requested it showing that it was submitted and any remarks from the judge?
