motion for appropiate release/relief...

I have a question, but I'm new and not really sure where to ask it, but here goes... Can someone tell me what the difference is (if there is a difference) between a motion for appropriate relief and a motion for appropriate release? And is it possible to file this motion if you have already accepted a plea bargin? My bf is trying to find out if he would qualify for a sentence reduction due to a witness statement that was left out of his case file. He has been told so many different things that we are not really sure what is true. His lawyer was court appointed and to make a long story short; my bf appears to be just another number. We can't seem to get any answers. Thanks

They are one in the same, having just went through the same thing if he took a plea that admits guilt his chances are slim to none, even if he has other issues surrounding the case that were not documented or procedures followed. As I always say though, you will never know unless you try and every case is different. Good luck to you!
