I haven't heard anything about it. I'll keep an ear to the ground.

I don't know if the lockdown was lifted [I heard about it too in a letter] but they let me talk to my "ex-man" on Friday afternoon to inform him of his father's death. He called from his counselor's office.

Thanks, Elaine. You always seem to find out first!

Each institution is required to "test" their emergency procedures annually. The complexity of the test is up to them, but I believe they have to stage a multi-day lockdown at least once every three years, just to practice all the steps required to do it. (Imagine the librarians having to wash pots and pans ...)

No need for the undertone of hostility....I got my info from a phone call from my friend who was calling from his unit manager's office--unit manager confirmed the same. The call occurred on the 15th and the lockdown was over, so what is the big deal? A shakedown for whatever reason is still a shakedown. I am sorry if an officer was injured and this was the cause of the lockdown/shakedown.

BTW, you did not say the source of your information and why it is more credible...oh, never mind, I have a pretty good idea.
