Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Hi,

My man is getting transfered to Marion on Feb 17th. Can anyone tell me anything about that place? He seems to be excited about moving from Grafton. Also, has anyone heard about the new e-mail system that is going to be set up in Feb. Apparently the inmates can get our e-mails through some other system, but they can't e-mail us back...which is crap!

Any suggestions or anyone with a loved one in Marion, I'd love to hear from you.

My husband has been in Marion for the last 6 years and he says that its a very good institution. There is a lot of programming to help anyone get their lives back on track. According to him its one of the best institutions around. Hope that helps.

Marion is a lot better than Grafton. My brother was in Grafton and hated every minute of it. then went to Mansfield then to Marion.

ok ya ya ya great for the guys. Now the important item. You know what crap visiting was like in Grafton you know a little like hell. Well Marion is heaven. sheer heaven.
You sit next to your man with your arms around each other. He can go up with you and help get the food. The c/o's rock very nice and funny. Just follow the rules and you can ride out your time a the best prison in Ohio.

totally agree with ravenslove. although i no longer visit

marion is the best for visiting! you get to be so close, sneak some extra kisses, and the COs are so laid back and nice. I noramlly dont care much for COs who are in the visiting room ecspecially, but they just have their ways. Marion has switched to cards for food in the visiting room, so make sure you bring five for your inital card and then money to put on it, brings ones and fives. the institution itself is nice as well, a lot of programs and things to do to keep out of trouble, deont'e likes it there, and everyone is saying they transferred, deont'e is trying to transfer TO grafton.. don't know why, ecspecially now he is in the marion camp, which is 20 times better.. well with visiting anyways! you get to go outside, and the last time i visited we got to sit on a bench and i got to lay on his lap! oh it definitely doesnt get better than that. I used to visit marion A LOT, if you have anymore questions feel free to PM me!

Thanks, I appreciate all your responses....he's on the bus today on his way to Marion. He's really excited too. He's heard a lot of good stuff as well. He said the visiting is sooooo much better. I'm happy for him....NOW, I can't wait to visit him!
