Default Loving a First Nations Man in US prison system

My boyfriend is a First Nations Man in a prison in Upstate New York. He has been in our pison system since 1990. I met him while incarcerated and have been by his side for 9 years. He is up for parole in just over 4 years. He has despertly been trying for a transfer in to the Canadian prison system to take advantage of the many programs that address the special needs of Aboriginal Offenders and re-entry into mainsream life once again so there is less a chance of recitivism. I wrote 11 letters to various depts. with in Canada I thought might be of assistance as well as 2 Canadian Consulates in NY. I believe in him and who he is now. His sentance is holding up the process as it is indeterminate and needs to be made determinate to be incorporated into the Canadian Correctional system. He is hoping some bills dealing with corrections in NY may address this. It is hard and sometimes lonely but I truly belive I have never found any one else that "matches" me so he is worth the wait. As I told him it is important to me who you are now and who you will be in the future and how you treat me. I was also curious if you are able to be at a PAROLE HEARING so they see he has someone there for him. I just worry if he does get paroled here they will deport him any way. But I want what ever will be best for his overall success of living a happy life free after 25 years. To see him free will be the best day of my life...and I will be there for him... If you have any thoughts please feel free to share. Peace and Ecology Now!
