Default PA prison handbook!

I was reading the handbook online and it said any money in the inmate's account will be applied to any court costs or fines they have. My fiance has $500 to pay.

I am I reading this right? issed:

I just put $40 in the county account for him and it will follow him when the transfer him to Camp Hill shortly!

Before reading this, I figured he just had to pay it when he got out. This sucks!

If he didn't have to pay the fine until after he got out [lets say he maxes out or completes his sentence rather than getting parole] it would be difficult to enforce getting the money from him. If on parole, the fine must be paid in total before coming off parole. For many coming out of prison paying fines on top of difficulty finding legitimate work, having child support to pay, living expenses, paying parole [yes, in PA parolees must pay for parole supervision], etc....puts a lot of pressure on the parolee especially during the first few months. I know this situation is not in your near future but trust me the money you are paying now will ease the financial burdens confronted when he comes home. BTW, a portion of the money he will make in the prison [not much] will go toward his fines, too!!!

Well i put money in my babys account 1 day before he got sent to a diff county jail..the one county sent a check to his parents house, his last known address, and his cheap a$$ parents cashed the check and kept the money! Sometimes,i dunno if in all cases, the money won't follow him..and once he gets down state,my one cousin is in Retret,my other is in Graterford and the other is in Camp Hill...they only take like 20% out of anything over $10.00...if they take all the money out of my babys account when i send it i'm gonna be ROYALY pi$$ed! His restituion is $7,000.00! There's NO way I am going to pay for HIS crimes. I didn't condone it while he was free,i sure as hell aint gonna pay for it whileh e's locked up! good luck..

Hopefully he'll be out sometime around the end of next summer. July - August. He was just told he'll be spending a year at Camp Hill before they send him to boot camp. (as long as he's good)

Thanks.
