My man was there about a year ago or so and the visits pretty much SUCK! They are contact visits so you're allowed a hug and a kiss at the beginning and the end, but everything else from the place to the people to the rules pretty much sucks. Get there early or you'll stand in line forever! You go there, find some street parking, register for visit by showing your id and giving them the inmates name and number and sometimes it takes an hour or so for them to bring the inmate to the visiting room. Then they call you and you go back and go through the metal detectors and get patted down. You walk into the room, and they're already sitting at this big u-shaped table. You find your inmate, sit down across from him and have a 30 minute visit, get your hug and kiss and then leave. No snacks, no metal, no money, no nothing. They usually have a CO there monitoring all of the visits and they'll come over and say something to you if you touch hands or reach your hands more than a few inches over your side of the table.

I think I posted a long detailed explanation of everything in an old post if you can find it, but if you have any specific questions please let me know and I'll try to help out!

I know - it's a really dirty, nasty place too but I guess that has something to do with the fact that it's the oldest prison in MD.

My man got transferred there because he caught a ticket, but he ended up there for a few months. It was the worst place he spent time. I hope your man makes it out of there sooner rather than later!

We thought he was going to BPRU but his mandatory release date is in June so my thoughts are that he will be there until then
