Boyfriend got sent to Johnston Unit TX Prison

My boyfriend was transferred to johnston unit on the 19th, one week tomorrow and I have not heard from him yet. Does anyone know if when they get their ist phone call are they allowed to call a cell phone. Also, I was reading that sometimes the inmates get released straight from the safp unit without having to do time in a halfway house. Does aynbody have any current info on this or is it more rumor than fact. Any info would help alot, I am hoping these months will go by as quick as possible but from what I have heard about the whole safp program it is really hard to think about what he is going through especially with no phone calls. Thanks for any help. I am glad I found this site and I hope it will provide some kind of comfort as I am sure people can relate to this whole situation.

My boyfriend got transferred there yesterday. I will let you know if I ind anything out. I heard that it can take up to 2 weeks for them to contact you.
