Default SSB6548 question affecting interstate compact

What are the names of the Washington representatives on the interstate compact commission and how do I contact them? I am concerned about the possibility of withdrawal from the interstate compact. I understand the concern for safety however I don't think penalizing offenders and their families because of what one offender has done is justified.

I do not have their names but I'm sure every state has a rep on the committee. The talk about withdrawing from the compact was started with the cop killings in WA with an offender that would probably have not been approved if the sentencing state had given a full disclosure of his history.

Other states have joined WA in the new disclosure policies aimed at preventing such a loophole in interstate cooperation from happening again. The state responsible was bared until it complied with the new disclosure rules. I expect by now everyone is following the same rules of disclosure.

Another rule of concern being changed was to give the receiving state more control over the offenders conditions and right to deport them back if they become a problem.

There are no issues which every state would not agree with as better for the community safety and give each state more latitude in regulating the offenders.

Unless your man has a serious violent past and deemed a high risk, there should not be any problems.

Try calling DOC headquarters about the Compact members, or check their web site for information on it.
