Unhappy Jobless now!

I got laid off yesterday. SLOWED down alot.

Many of you know from reading my post that I had "struggles" about fitting in, and this and that.. but I still hung in there and made it the best that I could.

Hr lady told me I had 1 hour to get my things and leave.

I went and started getting my things.. took like 10min the most to get my things

I sent out an email to my team and the other group I work w/ saying thanks for everything.. email took me no more than 15 secs to write, as I'm typing it, this guy who is NOT MY MANAGER AT ALL, comes up to my desk and says... what are you doing, you need to leave wtf didnt i have an hour?? (i didnt need it, just saying tho)

I told him, I'm sending an email thank you to everyone..

He made me feel like shit, even worse. WTF did he get outta that comment?

His stupid ass remark is stuck in my head bcuz I didnt get to "defend" my self and say i have an hour. You know when things are happening you arent thinking

I know its procedure.. but shit dude. He did it when it was quiet as hell so every1 heard him.. everyone saw me cry not bcuz of him tho!

That is HARSH! and I say HARSH because I know EXCATLY what that shit feels like! My last job I had... was an awesome one, I really enjoyed what I did....but I found it really difficult to fit in. And I always felt like WTF?!?! I am a pretty nice person, I just want to do my job and be happy, ya know?

But I was the youngest there and from CA and IDK really what it was....they just did not let me into their little 'click'. It sucked but what sucked even more was the way they 'let me go', it was very similar to your experinece and besides the day my man got arrested is one of the worst days of my life...

I am truly sorry to hear you had to go through this, I feel your pain and emotions over it I REALLY do.

I still feel a bit of resentment from that place (last job) that broke me down like that and I am still trying to pick my self up and brush off. We can do it together ~k~!!!! lol

Well said Crazy!!!
Also to add to what I said...I try to tell my self when I think of that situation, that obviously that was not where God wanted me and he has something better and somewhere were I will fit in, feel welcomed, and be happy to go to everyday in my future. Keep that in mind! You WILL make it without that stupid job and those heartless people!

I agree with that 100% When I was a teenager I was "let go" from a job. I was devastated! I started applying for new jobs right away and found a great one (in the same mall!) and was a lot happier at the new place. I'm sure you'll find a way better place to work!

I have been let go before and it does feel poopy. It's is amazing how it can really knock the wind out of you. Don't worry about the guy though...they usually escort people through getting there things and out the building, it is not common for people to be hanging out after being let go. Just saves on the drama. A better job is waiting for you.

Sorry to hear it. That guy sounds like a jerk. Go file for your unemployment and be glad to rid yourself of the job. It sounds like it was stressful for you.

Wow so sorry to hear about what you had to go through. It's so funny because I myself was let go from my job back in October and I still haven't found a new and I came on here to make a post about somewhat of the same topic and I saw this thread. I am so sorry that you had to experience this. I keep telling myself that the lord works in mysterious ways and I know something good is coming around the corner. So now I'll tell you! As far as that douche that made that comment to you trust and believe that he'll get what's coming to him. Every dog has its day.

That is horrible how they treated you when they laid you off. My daughter was 22 the first time she was laid off - they walked her out and some else had to get her stuff - she has never gotten over being treated so horribly. I just don't understand some companies.

that was so uncalled for. sometimes i wonder about people, this is ridiculous. u fig any human being would have remorse for someone else who has just lost their job. unreal. like conpal said go and file unemployment, and start looking around for something better. cheer up, it was probably for the best, who knows whats in store for u, i bet its something good. good luck honey.

I am so sorry to hear this. I know how hard it is out there and to lose your job is a big blow. I am hoping you can find something soon, The guy who said taht to you would have been on the receiving end of my wrath had it been me, you are a bigger woman than I am tho.

I will be sending you positive thoughts that you find something soon.

That was cold and cruel. I feel so bad about all of this additional stress! Unemployment should be easy after a layoff.

Im so sorry bout your job lost! From experience, i know that "most" bosses could care less bout the employees...they just try to make sure that they maintain their position! Im sorry he treated you that way, but look at things on a positive note...God has something better in store for you! I wish you the best!!!

Awe, I'm sorry you had to go through such a terrible experience. I've been on both sides of the story: I spent seven years in an HR type position where all I did was hire and train people and my weenie manager would _always_ make ME give the termination talks. You wanna talk about making me feel like world's biggest a-hole. It wasn't even in my job description! BUT, I did it because I saw it as an opportunity to at least be as kind as possible. My manager was all for the "Have security escort them out and you go bring their stuff out to them 'cause I'm too big of a weenie to actually face the person I wanna fire" method of letting people go. I'd at least let people grab their stuff and I was the one to walk out with them. Fortunately I was always allowed to wait 'til the end of the person's shift so they could at least make it look like they were just going home for the day.

The second job I took after that position was dissolved (not my fault but I got the shaft anyway), let me go after three months. And you bet they used the Security Guard escort while second Security Guard brings the rest of my stuff out method. Cold, cruel, heartless. That's Corporate America for ya.
