Quick update -

He's currently wearing the medal -- AND WE GOT IT IN THERE THE RIGHT WAY!!

Granted, it took a while, but he got a C/O to sign the appropriate form, and I left the medal at the desk. And now he's got it and we didn't break any rules.

He used to have one, and last time he was locked up he wore it when he was in there (if you get locked up with certain religious jewelry they'll let you keep it).

So for two weeks I've been trying to call the prison chaplain, with no response. I went and bought the Medal (it was like $7, I would never buy anything expensive to send into the jail) and talked to the C/O at the front desk last week. She told me that in order to get it in the jail the inmate has to get a request form signed by a supervisor, then the request slip makes it down to the front desk and THEN the chaplain comes down and picks up the slip with the medal and gives it to him.

Well apparently he's been having a hard time getting the request slip signed. The C/O's are all idiots, and none of them want to put their signature on it I guess. He's been getting frustrated.

So, get this: today he calls me and asks me to SNEAK IT into the visiting room with me. And just to paint a picture, I get SEARCHED and go through the metal detector before I go in!!! You aren't even allowed to wear any jewelry!!! I was like, "are you serious?"....I thought he must have been kidding when he asked me to bring it in with me and pass it to him on the visit. HE WASN'T KIDDING.

Couldn't BELIEVE he would ask me to do that. I was like, our visit would get terminated if they caught us, they might tell me that I couldn't come back for a while....and seriously, the C/O's in the visiting room are on our heels when we're in there....sometimes when he lean towards each other they tell us to back up. THEY'RE WATCHING US!!!

So I talked to him later tonight and explained that the visits were too important to me to risk them for something so small. I told him that if he can't follow the simple rules in there, how will he follow them out here??? He doesn't get it!! I mean, he just thinks its "no big deal". I explained to him that I would be DEVASTATED if our visits got taken away, especially for something so small!

Oh and JUST NOW he called me back AGAIN, asking me to try to WEAR IT INTO THE VISITING ROOM. I was like, are you retarded, you can't wear ANYTHING into that visiting room!

Eventually I'll be able to get it in there, the right way, I just wish he would calm down!!! He's a typical addict; he wants what he wants when he wants it! No impulse control!

Do you guys think I'm overreacting to this???

girl ur not alone on this. my baby wants me to do the same thing, but with other stuff!!! it's completely driven me nuts. the stress from it is unreal!! i try to tell him its to much of a risk for me. i wouldn't be any good to my kids, my family, friends, or him or to me if we got caught. but to him, its not a big deal, for the co's do watch us, but not that closely. plus i'd loose my degrees from college! he'll just have to get over it!
but ur not over reacting at all!!!! all ur reasons are sound proof! the risk is way too high! stay strong girl!
