Question Any Problems With JPAY Emails???

Hello All,

Until a few months ago I was using ICS letters to email to SCI Somerset then without notice (thank you commonwealth of pa) they switched to JPAY. Ever since then he has been complaining about me not responding to his messages when I know that I do and I have sent him some emails that he has not responded to. ICS let me know when a letter was actually delivered and JPAY does not do that. Does anyone else have (or had) issues with JPAY emails?

I had the same experience w/ICS being terminated w/out notice! I have not had problems w/JPAY since using it for the past month or so.

I use JPAY and haven't had any problems with him getting the messages. Maybe it's the institution? Good Luck!

I have been using JPay for over a year now & it seems to work just fine for us. alldwill, if I send my guy a letter Mon thru Fri, he either receives it the same day or the following day. If I send it over the weekend, he receives it Monday morning.

I think Somerset is kind of slow with the mail but he should get the letter by no later than the next day (with the exception of the weekend). I have a friend whose fiance was at a different PS jail and he got his emails the same day as long as she sent it before the mail was distributed for that day. Bottom line........I guess it depends.

Default jpay email

JPay e-mail has been working great for me. My son is in Camp Hill. He gets the mail the following evening. (I send it at night). Except weekends-no mail.

They can't reply back through e-mail, only U.S. Mail. I have had no problems with the e-mails going to Camp Hill. My husband gets them the next day except weekends and holidays.

Default No problems with Jpay, for me....

It depends on when that particular facility downloads(and screens the contents for suitability). I know at my loved one's state institute, they download messages around 4 am. When I don't send the message before that time, its 48 hours before he gets it, as opposed to 24.

Now, when he was at SCI-Graterford... he would get messages all throughout the day, and that was using ICS. He's no longer there(at Graterford). I have been using Jpay for the last couple months, and have never had a problem with that service. Nor, did I have a problem with them prior to his return(PV), when he was there for 9 months. He got all of the emails, the next day, when I sent them prior to 4 am.

I think the delay is more likely than not, due to when that particular prison downloads the emails, and gives them to the inmate. I know at Smithfield, he gets the emails during regular mail time, in most instances. I have however, heard him say they gave it to me last night

So, it seems to vary-possibly depending upon whose handling the mail/emails.

I use JPay for my buddy at Waymart SCI, PA. No problem sending money or emails to him. Both are received by him the next day.
***Be careful with the amount of money you apply towards the email accounts. You only have 30 days before it expires. $5.00 for 20 letters in 30 days. After the 30 days, another payment is required.
---QUESTION: I read somewhere on PTO that an inmate had sent someone an email FROM Waymart. Does anyonw know how that would happen?
Thanks in advance. Jim
