Question Are you a PTO polygamist or monogamist?

I visit a lot of forums, but many I don't post in since either they are far off from my own experience or there is nothing of value I think I could post (i.e. Coming Home, Going to Prison, Federal Forum, etc). But I do try and post in many of the forums I can or at least read whats going on with other people's experiences.

What I find interesting is, some forums I see names of people that I NEVER see in any of the other forums, only that one or two. Nothing wrong with it of course, but it made me wonder if we tend to stick to the one or two forums we are comfortable in or do we branch out and experience many different personalities, experiences, and opinions??

I am starting to branch out more because I realize that everyone's experience can in some way touch my own life, or answer questions that I may have, even if not in the way I expected. Even the Coming Home forum, or SO Forum, there is a lot of weath of info in those areas.

So what about you, are you dedicated to your one or two forums or do you try and branch our and experience most, or all of the forums?

I agree with Beth in that I browse through all the recent posts and just click on whatever I find interesting regardless of the forum. But I also don't tend to post much in forums other than the few I frequent because, like you said, I don't know anything about specific state rules, Federal prisons or being a parent with a kid inside, etc.

I used to stick with MWI and Huusbands/Boyfriends, but now I go to all new posts and add my two cents to anything I find interesting. I discovered a lot of stuff I hadn't ever even seen and have learned quite a bit that way.

Since I am new here I am checking everything out. I want to make sure that I find any and all information that can help me. Since I have signed up I have been glued to my computer. This has helped me so much. I was so so lost when this whole mess of a situation started and now that I know that I am not alone I don't feel so lost anymore.

Sometimes it is like falling down a rabbit's hole... when i first started posting I couldn't even find my way back to the thread I was in when I posted... I finally found out by going room by room and checking them out. I tend to stick to the same ones as they appear to have more traffic or more in common with issues I am experiencing. However, I do enjoy just pulling up the all new threads and checking them out. I will post in any that I feel I can offer something to or that strike a cord with me.

I roam alot but there have been some threads in the MWI that I would like to comment on but since I'm not MWI then I dont comment because I feel like I would be intruding. I was with my husband before he went in so when they ask a question about something I have a opinion but felt like well they are really asking for MWI people to answer since sometimes it will say does your mwi say or do this.....etc

I like to venture into other areas but I have found that certain groups don't want feed back from people unless its positive to there group. So I will stay out of forums that I might find offensive whether or not I feel this is the right way to do things. If this is just an example( If I post that I love my drugged out boy friend, I expect to hear how stupid I sound.) Lots of people don't want to hear the truth of how they sound so I won't go in to an area that my 2cents won't be appreciated!

Yeah I go thru the recent post, and of course go back to threads I've posted it. I do have a "home base" which is the Federal Forum...only because that's what what I knew when I was dealing with prison and that is where my PTO "family" is. I'll read anything but if it's state specific I tend to keep my mouth shut since I don't have experience in those states.

I used to have a "top 10" that I posted in. I have since branched out, as you have. Even tho Ray and I still have 3.5 years, I have been reading a lot of the "Coming Home" and "Now that they are home" ones. I recently started reading the Straight Talk threads. I also read When the relationship is over" to figure out what NOT to do. I have been looking around a bit more these days.As you say, even tho those threads might not allpy to us NOW, we can always learn more by reading them.

You would not be intruding at all by commenting in the mwi forum. So please do.And like someone else said, there are forums i don't frequent only because i can't help nor can i relate.Such as parents with children in prison or LASO.I have no experience in these areas.

Are you sure Beth, because I read a comment one day where someone who was not MWI was bashed for commenting in the forum, and it said something like MWI's don't comment in MBI forum(which is there one) so don't come into ours. I knew right then I would stay away! LOL!!

To answer the question I am all over the place for the most part. I do not go into MWI's or Forum's that do not pertain to me for the most part. I have a couple of times, but for the most part stick to one's that would pertain to my situation.

Well,i guess i should speak for myself only, then!!Rephrasing my earlier post,"I as a pto member have no problem with non mwi'ers posting in the mwi forum"....I feel i can learn from many people whether they are in my exact situation or not!!

If you have access to a forum on PTO, you have a right to post in it. If anyone ever bashes you for not being an MWI, or with a Lifer, or Violent Offender, or SO, IRR, or whatever else - please PM a moderator from the list at the bottom of the forum you're in with a link to the post.

Everyone on PTO is welcome in ALL forums as long as they follow the Rules & Policies of PTO.

And to answer the OP so we stay on topic (LOL) - I'm all over PTO. PTO Polygamist to the extreme!

Just one more thing thats food for thought we are all on this web site because we are supporting a person in prison whether its a husband, wife, relative, B OR G friend, friend. Any and all experiences and feed back can help. I don't feel that because someones experience is not the same as mine that their advice is not valid. In fact lots of it helps me understand the system and psyche of my loved one better!
