Default Need all the info I can get/change of venue?

My son was just sentenced in Oh for child endangerment and possion of chemicals for manafactureing. His case is up for appeal, he is not even sure what basis has been used for his appeal. He does know that he has been granted a public defender but does not know who. There were several issues with his case from the start, that lead me to call the ACLU. From what I gather, that led to some chages with that court. I gather that from comments made by the Judge, when I was there Friday for his girlfriends sentenceing ( co-defendant) As I uderstand it, if his appeal is up held, he will have to go back before that Judge. Would you recommend a change of venue and if so what do think his chances are of getting that done? Please help Can't loose another child

Just because he lost at trial does not give him grounds to recuse the judge or for a change of venue. If he wins his appeal, the case will be sent back to the same trial judge to follow the instructions in the Mandate. Trial judges who are reversed on appeal are not necessarily happy about it, but they do follow the instructions of the appellate courts.

Your son should hear from his appellate public defender in due course, but if he has the name and address of his appointed counsel, he should write a letter and just request a brief status update on his appeal.
