I have just seen that Amnesty have talked to channel 4 news ( one of the UK's top news reports ) about the executions of mentaly retarded people in the USA

here in the uk i dont think the media really bother with death row prisoners as they dont see it they dont care type of thing.
but cause i write to pen pals amongst other uk citizens, i feel it shoulod be exposed to what it really is, legal murder, they are trying to bring it back into the uk.. i think its wrong wherever it is.

that would be a fantasic idea, jodar, up until 5 years ago i thought executions were once in a blue moon thing, then i joined a human rights penpal thing, and found out just how many were killed on death rows, i was disgusted with myself that i didnt know, maybe if and i dont mean to offend any U S pto members here but maybe if the english ones could get "important people here to poke their nose in to the states buisness" maybe one day it would stop, to many people here only think off it as being "the american dream" over there its time more were enlightened of just what does go on over there, well i hope ive said that right and dont offend anyone, take care nikki

well i did a documentry about death row with the permission of my friend on the row, whowas executed while making the film and it was done and shown in a very posditive way, they dedicated it to the memory of my friend who was murdered by the state of oklahoma.
i think more people care about the death sentence and even disagree with it over here than we might think.

Where do you think we should start jamnik? I think we should first get a list of interested people and take it from there. You never know we may even do some good, and i think it will help us too, as we are actually doing something. What do you think?

Count me in - I agree that people over here in Uk have no clear idea of whats going on in death row in the USA, and we defo need more clear information.
I also have penpals on DR, and when I choose to tell anyone this, they think I am writing to crazy mass murderers, and when I tell them that is not the case, they are quite shocked.

......Yeah until I did some research I did not know that people were exexuted at that rate in the U.S.A, I was mortified when I learnt that up until 2003 they were executing minors!!!! i.e. sending minors to DR!
Thank God that the house of lords would never pass such a backward law! but I agree something needs doing and soon!

Channel4 Turnabout T V Is Good For Doing Things On Death Row, And They Dont Try To Make Us Look/sound Crazy Or Anything Negative But Are Interested In The Facts Abpout The Death Penalty, I Agree With Everyone We Need To Do Something, We Canjnot Just Turn A Blind Eye To What Is Goingon With The State Murders.

I think we are blind to so much that is going on over there with the law. The more I hear or read, the more horrified I am. It is high time to stand up and shout, something needs to be done to help all of them.
