maybe mixed feelings

My friend was taken to prison a little over two months ago...check my ticker... Anyways, he and I were just getting to know eachother when he was first arrested and booked in our county jail, I visited him pretty often.

Since he was taken to prison we've been writing to eachother, and he says that I'm his only system of support besides his grandmother. He says that his step dad won't write him back and he feels completely abandoned by him. His grandmother is probably going to let him stay with her when he paroles in August, but he hasn't gotten a clear answer on that.

So...In this same letter...He said, " I hope this doesn't make you feel weird, but I can't get you off my mind. I think we should be more than just friends..."

Now, I like this guy a lot, and this is what I said to him in my last letter.

"...I have serious fears of 'relationships', but I AM open to the idea of being more than just friends with you. But someday, we're going to have to sit down and talk about what that means to you, and to myself.."


After I sent this letter, I had second thoughts about sending it, and almost had the post guy go dig it out of the letter box... I don't know if I could handle a relationship with him, he has a past with addiction, and I don't know if I am up for what he is up against. He says he wants to be sober, and needs someone sober by his side...

Somebody help...I'm going nuts here...
