Default Concord Visitation w/ My Child

I just filled out the visitation paper and my MIL says i should fill one out for my 4 yr old son. Do i have to? I heard something about birth certificate...
Has anyone brought there child to visit someone at Concord, I heard there family friendly.. How good was your experience? As far as my Son running to my husband and hugging him, is that allowed? Are they just as strict for the kids?

Visitation policy directly from the DOC website.
Here: http://www.nh.gov/nhdoc/documents/7-09.pdf

2. As part of the visitor approval process, each prospective visitor must provide the full name, address, phone number, date of birth and identifying number (driver's license number, military ID number, state non-driver ID number). The inmate must certify that no court or parole board has ordered the inmate to refrain from contact with each prospective visitor. This information will be completed, so that it may be checked and verified, before the first visit. Children under 17 will only be required to furnish their date of birth.

You're welcome. It can never hurt to call and ask, although speaking from experience, they are pretty tight with information. They won't tell you anything about a specific inmate or visiting times, you will have to wait until you get the form to fill out.

Good luck.

Furnishing their date of birth....must mean a birth certificate as my daughter when she brings my granddaughter with us always needs to give that to them. She also had to sign her up on the visitors list approval in the beginning.

Yes, I would assume so. You would need some sort of physical proof of their actual date of birth.

I have never brought my children to visit my father, so I am not sure of the procedure. I just suggest you call the prison to clarify anything you are confused about before you make the trip. It's always better to have your ducks in a row

Hugs are allowed in Berlin. Everytime my granddaughter sees her uncle she runs to give him a big hug yelling his name. It is very heartwarming and he loves the visits. They have games and toys to play, books to read, and videos to watch, and plenty of vending machine food.

On the papers sent to me by my son I put down mine and all 3 of my Grandchildren. When we went to visit I had only to show my license and furnish the kids birth certificates. Later we only needed the youngest one's birth certificate and the two oldest showed their non-driver licenses. We also put in their school ID cards. We never had a problem getting in. In my particular case I also had to give the letter from the Warden giving me permission to bring the kids in to see their dad. Unfortunately their Mom had a record and due to this wasn't allowed to bring them in, so I had to get permission.
