Default Would you cross an international border to pay $2.80 a gallon for gasoline?

I saw this article this morning:

http://radio.woai.com/cc-common/main...rticle=8438992

Here in New Jersey, I am paying about $4.00 a gallon for gasoline. By contrast, the $2.80 a gallon that they are paying in Mexico seems like a bargain. Assuming it was cost-efficient to do so, would you cross an international border and purchase your gasoline in Mexico?

If I lived in or near a border town, maybe.... except that repeated crossings in the current climate would draw way too much notice and I don't care much for the idea of giving probable cause for investigations, searches and other inconveniences.

I'd consider it if I lived in a border town...

I used to drive across the tn/ga border for gas until GA decided to raise taxes AGAIN.

I live in arizona but not close enough to make it cost worthy, but If I did I would in a heart beat! Cut cost ever way you can!

Good point! I never thought about how frequent border crossings might look to the Feds. I don't do much international travel so I'm not sure if they keep track of border crossings or not. I know that when I renewed my US passport, I had the option to get some sort of passport ID card in addition to the regular passport. From what I read, the passport card, which looks like a drivers license, is good for crossing into Canada or Mexico via car. Suffice it to say, I didn't get the passport card; I just got the regular passport.

Thanks again for the thought-provoking point.

I can honestly answer yes, because I have on many an occasion. Different situation though. It wasn't in the U.S. and no passport was needed.
