USM Hold and Deportation

So my man's friend was released from the state pen at the ending of march. He was on community supervision and then arrested. I called the jail and they told me the US Marshalls had picked him up in the middle of april. I found out that he is now in a different county jail, that is only two hours away from the northwest detention immigration center. The charge information lists the offense as a USM hold and the disposition as a USM transport. There is no bail. Does this mean he is ganna be deported???? If so, why wouldnt have ICE just came for him when he got release from prison instead of waiting 1/2 a month???

If the Marshals picked him up then it means he has a federal criminal charge and could be looking at federal time. Was he previously deported?
