Can't you look him up on vinelink? The website will let you know which facility he is currently staffed at even if you don't have his DOC# you can search by first/last name and would save you the phone call.

Sadfriend, if sending money, send via money order and make sure you make out to your loved one. As far as the ordering of envelopes and stamps, your loved one will have to do that from their end on their canteen order. You can google Jackson for information, but on the website, it tells you the mailing address for money and mail is:

Inmate Correspondence: P.O. Box 233, Zip 54615-0233
Inmate Money: P.O. Box 116, Zip 54615-0116

Good luck!

Not to dispute you, lifewps, stamped envelopes can be ordered FOR them at JLMarcus. I've been doing that off and on for the past 3 years my guy has been there. The maximum that can be ordered is 5. They come in sets of 10 and the maximum they can have on hand is 50.

They can no longer have stamps at Jackson. So when they send a large or heavy envelope/package any extra postage is charged to their account.

No offense taken, I didn't realize that was an option. Great to know.

Hello all! I'm reading the posts and I just want to be sure this is correct. I want to order a few books from Amazon. Would I use the P.O. Box address or the N 6500 HAIPEK ROAD address? Thank you much!

One more thing, I forgot to ask, but can the book be hardback? I'm not sure where I'm getting this from, but somehow I am thinking it's only paperback books only?

I crossed all my T's and dotted all my I's. What's taking so long? Does anyone know how long this is supposed to take? I have called twice in the last two weeks. I am afraid if I call too much, I'll go to the bottom of the stack, but hopefully calling will show I want to be in the stack.

Thoughts? This is sooooo frustrating!

I had that same problem when I sent in mine, but I called almost everyday for 3 or so weeks, and finally a little over a month they said i was approved but they told me that the date of my approval was 3 weeks prior to that.... I dont know it was really messed up but you should be on there shortly I hope!! Good Luck!!!

Hi Valarie!

When you go into the JCI lobby, there's a bulletin board on the wall by windows. There are also some 3x5 cards available and visitors can post stuff on it. I posted my phone number on it hoping somebody would contact me and we could carpool together. But I guess nobody from my area goes there. Too bad you're coming from the opposite direction!

There was a lady I actually met in the lobby and we were riding together, but now her husband has been transferred and now the 2 hour drive has become a very long quiet seems like a 10 hour drive again, but maybe I will try posting something on the bulletin this week on my visit.... thanks for the advice though!!!

Yeah, I'll probably post on there again, too. some prisoners have been transported in recently so maybe...just MAYBE somebody from the Twin Cities will call me; or even from Eau Claire or Chippewa Falls! I don't mind making a short detour from I94.

That 2.5 hour drive SUCKS.

You can add money by going to securustech.net or calling them at 1-800-844-6591.
I also live in Madison but I'm not sure what you mean by adding you to the visitaton are you looking for a ride?

Your boyfriend needs to send you a visiting form to fill out. After filling it out, you send it back to the address that's provided on the form. Make sure you fill it out completely (and truthfully) or it'll be rejected.

Yes we would need a ride, but I only will accept if its not inconvenient in anyway to you. Of course I would have to get the visit set-up first but I wanted to see if getting up there was even possible first. I greatly appreciate all the feedback.
