Considering they laid-off or got rid of a lot of jobs, congrats to you. Take the job and run!

Do you mean it would be a good place to work?

Thank you.

How is life at Lakeview? I am thinking about working there. Are the inmates pretty cool? Or are they out of control? Thank you.

The inmates will be just like everywhere else in a lower Medium/Minimum facility. What matters is how you interact with them - since they will always return that interaction in kind.

Also, if you're considering working in corrections - each inmate is an individual. Some are incredibly polite and "cool" and others are more challenging. Just like every other workplace on the face of the earth.

The REALLY challenging ones don't end up at places like Werner Creek (Lakeview).

I realize a portion of the decision is the job, sorry I can't help you with that.

What I can offer is the aspect of living in a rural community. Have you ever visited there? Or lived in a rural area in the Eastern part of Oregon? Is it just you, or do you have family to think about?

I do not live in Lakeview, but in another rural part of E.Or, but I looked into moving to Lakeview when I was moving from Bend. Compared to the I-5 corridor there is very little crime, and I really man very little. For 4-years I left the keys in my car, and only stopped because my 20-year-old son thought it was an invitation to use the Hot Rod. Its different than living in the city, thats for sure. Bend is not that far (about 1 1/2-2 hrs) and Klamath Falls is about the same distance. Not much options for shopping, thats for sure. And very little diversity, so big drawback in that respect. Definately a small town feel. And if you or your family has any medical issues, it may take a bit to get used to cause the medical facilities are pretty slim pickins!

Good luck!
