Exclamation Information regarding lock down...

Does anybody know if there is a time limit a person can be on lock down? They have had him on lockdown for 6 weeks now. He gets out 1 hr/day for a shower and that's it. He has to sleep on the floor each night. This sounds extremely in humane and I wouldn't even treat my dog like that. Isn't there a legal length of time that they can do this or could he be on it forever???

If there's a situation at the prison, I don't think there is a time limit. You could contact the prison's family liason and ask about it, though. When my husband was in the lockdown at Lewis, that's how it was too. He was also in county during a riot & they wouldn't let the men go to the bathroom for 18 hours or even get off the wall. Men were breaking down in the heat & peeing on themselves. People outside the system don't really care how inhumane they are treated. sigh...

hello - he is still in lockdown. They will call him for his hour out sometimes at a time when he's sleeping and doesn't hear them... Sux... he's waiting for transfer to the fed holding facility in either Levenworth or Topeka. Once there - they will drop his final state charge and then he will be able to bond out only to be extridited down to Texas. It is slowly starting to seem a little easier. I write him everyday - I am the only one who does. His brother writes a couple times a week and a friend comes to see him every once in a while - but that is about it. I've been up twice to see him... He seemed better the 2nd time I saw him. Dedication... 7 hr drive for 30 minutes!! He's worth it!!
