Taylor has contended the killing he committed was in self-defense. He's among only a handful of white convicts sent to death row in the nation's busiest death penalty state for the slaying of a black person. Of the 468 Texas inmates put to death since executions resumed in the state in 1982, only one white man — Larry Hayes in 2003 — has been executed for killing a black victim.

His appeal is with the US SC and they will likely wait until the last minute. You can check orders here. They are arguing the same basis as John's lawyer did yesterday.

The SCOTUS has denied the appl for a stay. Justices Ginsberg, Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan would have granted the stay. Sending thoughts of love and peace to all those suffering.
