Questions about North Central regional jail

Are the prisoners allowed to have there own televisions in this jail? Are they allowed to smoke there? Do you need to call the visitation line for a contact visit even though they have to request it through their counselor? Any information about this jail would be appreciated.

No personal tv are not allowed and there is no smoking. You do not have to call when there is a contact visit. Prisoners are not eligible for contact visits though until after 30 days. YOu MUST arrive 30 minutes BEFORE your secheduled time for all visits. There really isn't much good to say about the jail the food is terrible and living conditions are pretty bad but if a prisoner stays to himself he should have no problems

My man just got transferred from there but he was there for 5 months and it sucked. The good thing about it was u could go down any day of the week except thursday and Monday and have glass visits. They cant smoke have tvs or anything really it is pretty boring for them. He likes to not get me upset and tell me to much about how it is down there but i know him like the back of my hand and he hated every minute of it. She is right though as long as they stay to themselves they will be fine and know that nothing to bad can happen because its not like hes with lifers you know, everyone there has a less than one year sentence or is waiting to be transferred based on hearings or stuff like that. NCRJ is a horrible place....roaches, ants, a man in almost every cell sleeping on the floor because of overpopulation, dreadful food, FILTHY, flithy place with trash in the halls and food that has been 'recycled' from the last meal....very little dairy and almost NEVER any fruit. No outside time except for a concrete room with a concrete floor and on open ceiling, hygeine comes between 2 and 4 am and if you don't hear them, you are out of luck. Razors...forget about it 75% of the time....should I go on?

No they arent allowed to have their own TVs, there is one TV in the dayroom, no smoking is allowed anywhere and you dont get a contact visit until you have been there 30 days, the inmate themselves has to set those visits up, you cant do it by calling in.

pretty much like everyone else said no smoking, no tv's, and getting a razor to shave is like pulling teeth there. as for visits you can call to set up non-contact visits but your inmate has to be there 30 days before having a contact visit and they have to set it up and give you the time and date to be there. always get there 30mins before your visit to register and have 2 forms of id's.

My man is there now for a 20 yr ole charge! I am hoping he gets out tomorrow but it sure seems not a place to be! I have just seen all your postings an altho some are last yr I am sure they still apply!
