Congrats to thug on her man coming home!!!!

deons - enjoy your peace and quiet, hope you have a good time

jem- moving sucks! but change and new things are good. I would stay in the country, but then again, saving money sounds like a good thing too...hmmm

patch - chiggers lol. I remember when my mom was preggers with my youngest sister. We went camping and she got ate up big time on that big ol belly! She had a doc appt the next week and the doc called all the nurses in to laugh as they had never seen so many chigger bites on one person! Poor thing was miserable! i had fun though using different color nail polishes to dot on her to stop the itch. She sure was pretty!

armys - I hope everything works out for you. Glad you found 'you' again

mykygal - i think of you often too and wish you well

All is well here. My 2 sisters, 2 nieces, and nephew came down and spent the night last night. We had a ball! A called this morning and go to talk to all of them for about 1 minute each! He was happy too since he hadn't talked to any of them in a while! Well, most of us had a ball. My youngest sister (30) is having depression issues and probably something else she won't tell us about. Her unemployment ran out so she is relying on child support and school money. She refuses to get a job (claims there is nothing out there, but refuses restaurant work, or bar work or any kind of work really). She just sat here, ate very little and said not a word! She still takes care of herself physically, but won't tell us what is wrong or what we can do. She just tells us to leave her alone. Not sure if she is sort of playing us for sympathy and handouts but dangit she's 30 and has a kid so she needs to move on and dealt with things! I just want to slap her sometimes. She's not a baby anymore but sure as heck acts like one. Her 10 year old daughter is more mature than she is. I know it is more than our dad's passing that has her so down but she won't let anybody in. Oh, she has tickets to the Reds game next week so she'll be happy then, but not in everyday stuff. Ugh....

Thug--I was so excited to see your post! CONGRATS!

The cabin was great, definitely beats sitting here watching the clock. This last 11 days is going to seem like 11 years! Went to see the man today. He is so preoccupied with his release that he couldn't even focus on a conversation. It was great seeing him.

Morning

How are you all doing?

Thug- Congrats! to yous both. Hope everything works out.

Patch- Chiggers i had a funny experance with them also...when i first moved to ky i got them from sitting on a lawn chair at my nephews house right after he had cut the grass...BOTH of my bottom calfs were FULL!..OMG...i was like freak'n out!..what is it..what is it!!...so i go to uk and the doc comes in for 1 second looks doesnt touch or even examine me just looks at my legs and says OH chiggers...i was stun...then i say ok...u need to send someone else in here to look at me cause im not sure u know what the hell this is... so another doctor comes in he looks and touches it and then proceeds to tell me what it is and how long they stay in ur body etc...i was sick!....well being from cananda we dont have chiggers up there...so then i guess i was satified....lol...but i was ate up pretty good....so i understand...

Sass- well i went and looked at the house next door to dana and thats a negitive...small too small...nice size bath, kit and laundry room but the livingroom...my furniture wouldnt even fit into there and then bdrms way too small...im'a tell yous darions stuff wouldnt fit into any of those bedrooms...lol. But it was a thought..for a minute..

So we got Dana all moved in on saturday..in the rain and we had us a hillarious day...on the second or third load danas couch and entertainment ctr fell right off the trailor at the new house..john pulls in and tries to make a big circle and everything falls off...then were unloading things and a girlfriend is helping us unload...well she grabs 2 couch couchions and her shorts fall down to her ankles...you had to be there we all laughed and laughed. she turned beat red of course and she got such a kick out of it...funny

well it a start of a new week ya'll...hope its a good one..

I forgot to tell you all that B has stitches again! GRGRGR! On Monday, he had a bike wreck and the chain basically shredded his leg. Luckily, some woman was driving by and stopped to see if he was ok. He told her no and she drove him home. I was so freaked out that I forgot to even tell her thanks. I still feel bad about that. Anyway, they had to cut away some of the skin that was basically mush. He ended up with 6 stitches inside his leg and 31 on the outside. The ER doc was the same one that stitched his arm! He was teasing B and told him there's a 100 stitch limit per person. B was adding it up and freaked out. He said "I'm already at 72! What am I going to do if I get hurt again?". The doc and I had to claim him down and tell him it was just a joke. He is doing well except walking. It's right above the his "knee pit" on the side of his leg.

On a more positive note, D sold one of his big ceramic pieces for $125!! Go D!

On a even MORE positive note, the man only has 9 days left and he's coming home!

There were 5 of us kids growing up, out of that 5 it was Always the same one that got hurt all the time--everytime. Bob. We played Red Rover and let him through....he came barrelling with his head down and hit the porch, splitting his head. He broke his leg; he got tangled in barbed wire; he got shot (twice) with a bb gun; I thnk the poor boy always had some thing stitched and/or broken

Poor B...I hope he heals quickly!

Yea D!!! Glad he's selling his artwork

As for the Homecoming.....How are ya'll nerves holding up

Hello my Bluegrass.PTO friends. Congrats to Thug and her mister coming home. Deon's, same goes for you too. I remember the countdown - I was a wreck and so was he. I hope all goes well for all of you. I hope B heals quickly. Kids usuallly do. I have always been a klutz so have had my share of injuries - both as a kid and an adult.

Armys - Glad to see you are able to go on with your life and not let this keep you down. You are so right - there is only so much we can do - they have to want to do it and be the ones to make the right choices. I admire you for your strength.

Patch - Sorry you are having to work the night shift but as you say, it is a job. How is your garden doing? My little "garden" is doing great if I can keep the little "critters" out of it. Need to build a cage to keep the squirrels out of them. We have added a tiny bunny rabbit to our backyard collection of critters - who would think that in the city, one would have all the tiny little creatures? I do enjoy our new place - if it were only closer to home and the kids. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I keep hoping for the strength to make the right decisions.

Jemison - Dana's move sounds like it was quite eventful. I hate moving - the next move will be back home to where I am closer to the kids and grandkids.

Sass - Thanks for your support and warm wishes. It is appreciated.

All is the same here. New position is going okay. Enjoying it actually most of the time. Have cut back on the overtime which will hurt the budget but have to start taking better care of me. I hate that they are short staffed but they always are. That has never changed since I have been there. One of these days, I will get used to my new schedule and sleep like a normal person should. But who ever said I was normal??? I have always had insomnia, even as a child.

Just thought I would check in and let you know how I appreciate your support and reading your posts. I try to read as often as I can even if I don't post that much. If I don't get back on before then, I hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July. Lots of fun, friends and family. I am scheduled to the prn position so will see how that goes. As far as I know, we are not doing anything - as usual.

mykygal: I picked--and sauteed with onions/musrooms + added a tad bit of cheese--my frist yellow squash Monday. Yum Yum The corn is about 3' tall; there are sweete banana peppers that need to be picked ; the wind snapped my biggest tomato plant in half and I still haven't taken theh time to stake any of them (highly unusual for me ) so they're beginnig to look like a bunch of octopi already

You're a strong woman sweetie....we all are (and th men too) or we wouldn't have made it thus far doing this prison/after prison life. Be true to yourself and if it is meant to be, it will be (whatever "it" is). Take care my friend.

Jem--Glad Dana likes her new place!

Well B ended up getting cellulitis in his leg, so back to the doc. At first, she was going to admit him in the hospital. She ended up trying a new antibiotic and it worked. YEAH!! Now they aren't happy with the progress of his arm. So we go see a plastic surgeon that's a wound care specialist on July 6th. Between his counseling, psychiatrist and counselor, I'm never at work making any money. Thank God I finally got his medical card. So much for the plans the man and I had for when he gets out. Now I'll be broke as h*ll when I pick him up. But he and I both know B comes first. It'll just be awesome having him home, who cares that we're broke.

Patch - Thank you so much for being so understanding and kind. Everyone on here is but you seem to always say the right words at the right time. I don't know what your degree(s) are in but therapy/counseling should be a good area for you. Someone else on here said one time a few years ago, "this is a journey for us all" - who knows where our journey will take us but hopefully will have a happy ending for all of us here. Your garden sounds so yummy! My tomato plants are blooming but have not actually taken a good look in a couple of days. They are growing fast, that I do know and they are healthy looking plants. Those squirrels better back off!! . May have some squirrel stew cooking if they don't leave my "maters" alone. Yes, we are all strong women (and men) - it is my survival mode.

Deons - Sound like poor B has had more than his share - you as well. You and mister won't need a lot of money when he comes home. It is nice but having a warm, loving environment to come home to is worth more that lots of money. I do wish you and your family a great homecoming.

Jemison - Our lives are adventures - we never know where it will take us. Hope everyone has recovered from the move.

I just wanted to check in briefly before I go to bed. Had a very long, hard day at work - too much OT for someone trying to slow down. I hope all of you have wonderful weekends. Those working, try to not work too hard. Those visiting or having fun - I wish you a great time.

I agree, patchouli is awesome at knowing just what to say and do. The calming effect she has is also so wonderful.

Great weather this past weekend! I love it like this.

Busy week ahead for me, blood tests, doctor visits, sleep clinic thingy....sigh, it'll all be ok. I'm not one bit worried

Poor Darion and his root canal! I had one of those years ago and it was so awful (took the whole summer, infections, pain, YUCK) those 2 words terrify me!!

I love the gardening stories. One of these days......yeah right!

I hope everyone has a good week!

Aw shucks ya'll Thanks for the confidence

I've said it before, but this night work is killing me....I can't seem to get into a routine, everything is "flipped" around from what it used to be/what it's supposed to be. And the weather doesn't help.....the garden is way too muddy to get in, yet the weeds are growing at an excelerated rate (or so it seems ). Hopefully I'll be able to get out there and hoe hoe hoe towards the end of the week.

Anywho, I'm heading to bed....this is the earliest I've gotten in bed for a while and this old woman is tuckered out. Acutally I've found myself with my forehead on this computer table a couple of tmes lately

Let's have a good week ya'll!!!

Jem--His release time is approx. 9am.

Patch--I was on night shift for a long time when I was 18 or 19. All I did was sleep. Sorry you're having a hard time adjusting.

Well B is at my mom's until the man and I come up there. I am trying to get so much done before he gets here. It's not like I didn't know this day was coming, but of course I've waited until the last minute. I tried to shop today for a few outfits for him (since he will nothing but the clothes on his back). I couldn't decide on nothing but 2 books and a pair of crop pants for me. LOL Good thing a lot of summer stuff is already going on clearance! I'm trying to get at least 2 weeks worth of homework done before Thursday also!

Hello ladies!! Busy time here at work! But I'm off until July 7 yay! Headed north for for a few days. Really excited about seeing my family including a cousin expecting her first child!!! My son has been keeping me busy as well.
Well unfortunately you know how has to serve 30 days for a violation. Hard head has made a soft a$$ for him. More sanctions coming down for him.
I keep him in my prayers! We will always be friends but I'm not doing another bid with him.
Deons- congrats on the homecoming. Yay!!!

jemison: Glad Darions experience with root canals is almost over...I hope he never has to have one again! My daughter was the same way, liked the dark dark dark when sleeping--or having a migraine, which she has thankfully outgrown.

deon's: Its your up all night!!!!!!!! Whoooo Hooooo!!!!!! Don't worry about the small stuff, he won't notice and he won't care

army's: I am so sorry for how things have progressed (or rather, not progressed) I hope he gets his stuff together.....those "old friends" ain't gonna do chit for him, he should realize that by now.

sass: How'd your tests go??? You're healthy and fine as frog hair, right????? Sending lots of postitive energy your way

I'm sure missing some folks ariund here: kary's, stephens, Niecy, Maya, and so many more. Ya'll know who you are!! Hope all is well in your worlds

I've had the wee one the last couple of days...we've weeded (some, not enough) in the garden, rode the riding mower together and spent numerous hours at the local library Now I'm playing catch-up with PTO and class stuff (Ya'll notice who I placed first in the "catch-up" category )

Ya'll have a safe and happy 4th of July.......enjoy your family and friends, and stay safe!!

Not exactly. The sleep results won't be back until July 12, but they didn't have to wake me up to put the machine on me so it's not severe. That's good news. I do have a fatty liver and Type 2 diabetes. Sooo, no alcohol (boo!) and I have a strict diet and have to lose weight, test my blood 3 times a week for a month, and if nothing changes within 3 months, I will have to go on meds. Oh yeah, and I have to exercise....What? Me, the Couch Potato Queen?? But I willl do anything to avoid giving myself a shot everyday....no way I could do that!
Oh well.

Isn't that new grandwee one due soon?

YAY DEONS!!!! - oops, didn't mean to interrupt ya!

army's - enjoy your time away!

jemison - Darion's so so brave!!!

Happy 4th everyone. I'll be going north for a few days too, but not leaving till Saturday evening so I'll be checking in.

Not to make light of your situation, but I'm sure I have more fatty stuff than my liver I know that's not funny, but I hope I got a smile of ya As for the injections, I hope things don't come to that, but I have known a couple of folks that had to do that and you will adjust if that's what it takes

The new wee one will be here next Wednesday. That's if she don't go into labor before hand. I just wish I knew how this was gonna play out. I drive a F-Ranger. We don't all fit in it now.....I don't how we're gonna get her home from the hospital with yet another car seat and she'll be too sore to hop in the back of the truck I'm kidd'n, we'll figure it out.

Thanks Sass! I'm laid out in our hotel room relaxed for now! My baby boy is Playing on the lap top.
There's really no need for anybody to feel sorry for me or sad because things are not different with my friend. He had so many opportunities to succeed. He had a job and could have had his own place by now. I made him an intake appt. For mental health but he didn't go. His p.o. Is the nicest one around and very lenient. BUT he's burned so many bridges with people it's sad. The next slip up will land him back behind the fence.
I love to vent to you all and my connection to PTO will never end. I will continue to rally for change in our prison system. I will also continue to encourage the "friend". Just not as much as I have been. He's not a mean person and treats me good but he doesn't realize his own self worth.
Enjoy your holiday!!!!

Well the man is home! Hasn't been good at all. I ended up staying in Frankfort to be closer and not have to get up so early. I picked him up around 9:30am and we went to the room. Everything all good there...LOL!! Then we came back to the house and the kids starting blowing up the phone, as expected. Then I let him take my van to go see them and have some quality alone time. He told them he didn't want to be around a bunch of people. But they invited everyone except me. He was supposed to be home at 7:30pm. He called and said he'd be late. Then called again at 11pm and said he was leaving in 15 minutes. Long story short, he never came or called. I woke this morning and still no man or van. Freaked out and went looking for him around 9am. Came home and he was asleep in the bed. He said he got tired and scared because road blocks were out. Said he was scared to leave and didn't want to hear me be upset, so he didn't call to tell me. Was mad as h@ll. We went to Wal-Mart and he was really spooked. I understood a little more then. But still mad. He said he couldn't handle coming to the cabin. So he's at home with no car keys and I'm at the cabin. What a freaking roller coaster.
