I am also trying to figure it all out. It looks like just like everything else ERP runs inefficiently and is a pipedream. By the time they actually do their jobs and calculate ERP- it is usually too late to release them early unless they are cutting years off the sentence.

Sorry- I just got off the phone with them and am ready to cry... I am sure that isn't the info you were looking for- maybe if you were more specific...

We thought he would be home by now cause his mandatory release date is 3/27/11. His PO already did a home visit in September and approved it. But unfortunaly I spoke to his PO last week and he confirmed his release date has not changed as of yet, keeping my fingers cross for early release in Jan. But on the other hand I have prepared myself for the March release date, If I recieve any updated info on ERP I will be sure to post.

My hubby just got denied for ERP!!! I am FURIOUS! He was telling me that all of a sudden everyone that goes in front of this one woman seems to get denied. He said she seems like she has a real chip on his shoulder. He has completed all but a couple of weeks of his program and even the person running the program tried to include a note that she was pleased with his progress & was sure he would complete it. He has had ONE.. ONE frickin ticket and that was for me sitting next to him in the out door visiting center and this self-rightous ---- (I am sure you can fill in the blank!) says that SHE doesn't think HE got a long enough sentence and needs to be punished more!!!

Thanks Cheshirecat!
If you would not have posted that link for us I would have never figured out that my husband just might be eligible to be released without actually doing ERP. He participated in so much drug and alcohol classes and counseling while his case was going on (a year and a half) that he really should be eligible to be released to extended supervision. Should I call his lawyer with this or wait until he calls me? He has only been at Dodge for 3 days.
If you or anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Deb

My sister just graduated from ERP last Friday, she waited about a year and was shifted back on the waiting list at least twice because wmen with shorter MR dates arrived from TCI. She told me other women got re-phased in the program and had to wait for an extra month or so.

Some of the rules seem to be arbitrary and caprecious, especially in the PRC area. Where one person can make a decison that effects your life.

The "Life In Wisconsin Prisons and Beyond" (http://lifewps.wordpress.com/2011/02...-begins/detail ) blog gives a very excruciatlingly detailed look at what the Earned Release Program (ERP) is about. It starts at MSDF at that link. You might to read some before that though as it details how he got into it and some of the hassle leading up to it.
