Default Anyone ever gotten a 2 day visit at WCCF coming from out of state?

Hi,

I live in Texas and my boyfriend is at WCCF. I heard a couple of years ago from another PTO member whose son was also at WCCF. She lived in WV and was able to get a 2 day visit with him because of the distance. I want to try to get a 2 day visit with my boyfriend (I am on his visitation list and designated as his next of kin in his file) but I need to know if anyone else has been able to do that. I would love to hear from anyone who has gotten more than a 3 hour visit when coming from out of state.

Thanks,
Cindy in Texas

I sure would like to know that answer as well. My man is at Wilkinson as well and I'm in Ohio. It would be nice to be able to get a long visit since there is such a far distance.

Well, I did try to get some info. on this. I emailed back and forth and Larry Lee, the MDOC Compliance Officer at WCCF emailed me this info:

Special visit days will normally be in conjunction with special holidays or when there are five (5) weeks in a month creating more than two (2) weeks between regular visiting days. Notification of special visiting days will be published in sufficient time to allow each offender ample opportunity to notify their visitors. Inmates are screened and must have been 90 days RVR free. Extended Family visits are granted to those inmates who are Minimum Custody and must have been RVR free for 12 months.

hate to say it, but looks like a standard answer, I don't see it touching on the subject of getting more than 3 hours or at least getting to visit more than once on the weekend, ITS real easy to put people off in an email, you might get more results by calling and talking to MS Chambers, GOOD LUCK , they CAN bend the rules when they want to, but WILL THEY???
