I just received 2 letters from CRAF...anywhoo...looks like the letters I sent VIA the info on the NJDOC web page won't get to him now...they didn't have the complete address...anywhoo...you have to use a size 3x5 envalope, no personal stationary, no labels ( i guess no address labels). He can't receive cards, unless they are made out of cardboard, SO i guess that means no store bought cards. He was able to keep everything with him, but they threw out his b-day cards and his father's day cards and that really upset him. They gave him 5 envalopes and some paper to write. I really don't know if he has $ on the books, as I had just put 100.00 on the books for him the day before he left. UGH!! I have to now go out and buy new envalopes to send stuff to CRAF. I just bought a new box of the 4.5 x 9.5, but I guess that won't do for CRAF!! OY OY OY!! this is sooooo anoying. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!

Hey my envelopes i sent to craf were on 9.5 x 4.5. So don't go buy new envelopes the only thing is u HAVE to put his name , nex t to his name his SBI number. then under that Central blah blah then the po box and everythign and u have to use a return address! they give him 5 envelopes and letters that he can send out free (they dont charge for the stamps) You have to contact the county where he is at at tell him he needs to have the money transferred and give them his SBI number. It usually takes about a week. CRAF only accepts postal money orders and on the money order just put his name, his number (u dont have to put an address for him) then ur name and ur address. And again u send it to HIM just liek u send a letter. I had to call monmouth to get money transferred to him but it would take awhile. Also don't worry about sending him much money to craf he cant really buy anything but soap and paper and stuff like that.

Hi Danielle...thanks for replying to me...I'm going to call county up and see about getting the $ transfered to him. This is sooo disharting...at least I did hear from him...it's werid cause the enelopes were stamped marked today lol and I received them today!! Werid...HUGS...Keiko

Just got off the phone with county, they said a check was sent up with him when he went to CRAF...so that's good

thats good i guess my county was jsut a pain in the butt. But nayway what did they tell u aboutt he envelopes cause mine were always fine. I had one sent back to me cause i forgot the SBI number.

Yea, I used the 9.5 x 4.5 envelopes and I use address labels and all my letter go right to my man. I have not had any problem with that. Also, as danielle said they give them 5 envelopes with stamps on the when they get there, then they have to buy more stamps and envelopes (i don't know if they get charged for envelopes and stamps) but I sent my man $20 and he got the stamps and stuff he needed. When you send him a letter, put it like this: (atleast this is how I do it)

C.R.A.F
P.O. Box 7450
Trenton, N.J. 08625 (it's actually west trenton on their envelopes)
When you get a letter from him it'll have a whole lot of numbers where the SBI # is, but I just use the last ones after the / (the number on the doc website w/o the zeros in front) and it has the housing location (their dorm) but you don't need to write any of that.
They can also get pictures while they are in there. And you can send money orders to be put on his books. You said he got to keep everything, well Dave had this white tank top on when he got arrested, well that went with him from the county jail, to that ADTC place, and now to CRAF. He says he always gets offered things for it, but he won't get rid of it, b/c I bought it for him

I love him soo much.

Thank you for your reply. Yup, he said they gave him 5 envalopes and paper...his cell mate gave him a couple of his on top of that. He said CRAF is sooo confusing. They yell at you all the time. SO, of course he was afraid to ask any ?'s for fear of being yelled at. SO, all of his cards got thrown away. That really upset him, cause he just received the Father's days cards and birthday cards at county right before he moved. He didn't think that he could have them sent home cause he didn't have any $ to do so. SO that really bumbed him out and has been crying himself to sleep due to all of that. He is in the housing location: W2B. Oy..I can't think right now, as my son is screaming bloody murder, as I had to change the sheets on his bed and he's not happy about that one bit and letting me know. HUGS...Keiko

That's wierd about the B-day Cards ... I sent my Fiance a bunch of Hallmark cards - especially during the mth of Feb for V-day and he got each of them w/no problem AND I even put Heart Soap Confetti and that went thru too ... I am sorry that his was not allowed maybe the CO or that person in charge for that section is just an A-hole ... Tell him to keep his head up ...

I told him not to worry about the cards...he said he didn't know that he could send them home and didn't want to ask ?'s to get yelled at. He said that he was stupid, but I told him not to call himself stupid, cause he didn't know. I told him, I'll send him more cards when he gets to where ever he is going. He was soooooo upset about the father's day cards, as he just only received them the day before he left from county. *blush* for some reason I thought you were from texas or something. I hadn't realized you were in NJ? Maybe I'm confused. HUGS...Keiko
