I think that sounds like a fantastic idea! Hmm...but how would one go about it. The thing I'd be worried about is that somehow my guy would find a way to misinterpret it. It's so hard to get across ideas and communicate properly (and effectively) through written words themselves since you can't always really get the right tone or humor through writing.

Either way, it sounds like a fabulous idea! I'm interested in whatever info you might find because I'd like to try something too.

Yeah I'm with you ricky'sgrl. My man is freaking right now because he called and I didn't answer the telephone. Between today and yesterday he has called over 20 times. I wish that I could talk to him but there is no money on the account and I don't have any to put on it until Saturday. No he would not take being pranked or punked and I feel like for us it would just start a huge disagreement but if your guy is cool with that kinda thing then go for it.

As for subject matter you might think about these things #1 you have a friend who is in the same prison with him who can hide his stuff #2 send him pics of you with a fake head that looks like you cut off all of your hair #3 tell him that you've already planned the wedding and invited all of the guest and you will be doing it the day he gets out. you will pick him up and go straight there. Just some thoughts. Good luck and be sure to let us know how things work out.

Pranks and prisons don't go together very well.
Between the risk of your guy taking it wrong, you have the risk that the staff at the facility might read WAY more into a prank and that could cause real trouble.

Instead of a "prank", grab a friend, go to a costume store and have your friend take pics of you in different costumes- everything from the silly to the seriously sexy- and send the pics one per day or per week until Halloween. Or go to a pumpkin carving contest and take pics of all the great Jack o' Lanterns you think he'd like...print out ghost stories for him and send one page at a time so he does not have the whole story until halloween.

There are lots of options that don't run the risk of somebody missing the part where it was funny.

I completely agree. I think it would be cruel to try to prank or scare someone in prison. Really they get it bad on the inside already, the last thing they need is "terror" from the outside too from those they love and trust. That's not funny at all.

I like the idea of sending costume pics and scary stories to my boyfriend. THIS I will be doing!

I LOVE the idea of printing out ghost stories and sending one page at a time!! Here are a few sites I found:
http://www.halloweenghoststories.com/
http://www.americanfolklore.net/halloween.html
http://www.halloweenishere.com/ghost_stories.html
http://www.halloween-website.com/scary_stories.htm

The costume idea is great to. I would suggest ebay because they do have some reasonably priced, or even a local thrift store. I have looked at costume stores and nearly fainted at the prices!

I was not thinking of buying a bunch of costumes- I was thinking of trying on a bunch in the store and taking the pics there- Yes, the prices are scary... I guess that's the retailer's way of getting us in the Halloween spirit.

LOL!! Well where I am they kick you out the store before you can even take the 1st picture! We went back later and they actually put up a huge handwritten sign that says no pictures allowed inside the store, if you are cought (yes that's how they spelled it) you will be made to leave!!! So of course they won't be getting my money ever!!
