Just The Start; But Being Anxious Has Me Everywhere

My Fiance has been in County Jail for about 2months; Douglas County sentenced him to 15 do 4 years. I have never been through anything like this and it's killing me. We spent everyday and I do mean everyday together. Out of our 1 1/2 of being together at most we have had altogether 2 weeks apart and of course are time apart now. I understand that he has to serve atleast 1/3 of his sentence before knowing anything about Parole. But my question(s) are:: could he possible here about a Parole date before he even reaches his 1/3? or If he reaches his 1/3 marked how long after will they let you know or the one in prison of their possible Parole date?

First welcome to PTO, you will find there is a large support group here that will give try to help and answer your questions, I know it has been a lifesaver for me whether I needed to vent or ask questions. I am in Cobb and going through the same with my husband, he has now been gone for over a year between the county and state. To give you an opinion, as the Parole Board does their own thing and basically answers to no one. Depending on your fiance's charge and whether it was one of the 7 deadly or a non violent offense will make a difference. Once he goes through diagnostics he will be interviewed and given the test for the parole packet. If you call down there they will always tell you he will be reviewed at 1/3rd of his time but according to the grid sheet and his previous record it might be more or less. Mine was maxed out on a probation violation with no new charges in over 5 years and was given the remaining 5 to serve. He should be reviewed next summer and hopefully with him having no DR's and good behavior he will be out soon. From reading other post on here a TPM is just an estimated date and they can extend or move it up if they chose to do so. Hang strong and know we are all here to help you get through this.
