I was wondering if you knew my husband who is there. His name is Oakley and he's a tall lanky blonde guy who plays guitar and is a Peer Educator. Remember him?

I think I sat behind you guys with Justin at visitation a couple of weeks ago. You had to leave right before we did and gave us your Starburst, pecan pie, and Doritoes.

If he is in closed custody you might have a problem but other that you shouldn't have a issue seeing him if he is your husband. I know you have to show proof that you are married but other than that you should be fine.

Yeah, we get contact visits, but I read that conjugal visits are not an option in the state of Texas. That sucks.

My man was just transfered to Robertson after he completed the GRAD program. He just wants to do the rest of his time in peace, so I hope people leave him alone so he can continue to stay free from trouble. He won't seek trouble, that's for sure.

This unit is scary, huge and extremely intimidating...i dont know what its like now but it was said that the unit stays on lockdown on an average of 9 months out of the year due to riots and violence...mostly because this is considered an "agg farm"...meaning that most inmates there were convicted of aggravated crimes and must serve 85% of their sentence. Basically most offenders there were convicted of violent crimes or used a weapon in the commision of the crime. Its a real penitientiary and its hard time...i passed through once...luckily only having to stay the weekend through transit. The food was absolutely horrible, there is razor wire EVERYWHERE and the guards take their jobs very seriously...they even are required to wear shank proof vests. I dont mean to be a bummer but this is one of the most dangerous units in texas.

I am not sure how long ago Joshua Scott was there, but my husband has been there for 5 years of the 16 years he has served. Yes there are offenders who have committed crimes with weapons...like most prisons do. But Robertson Unit hasn't been on lock down in two years...except for when the state locked em down for the cell searches. It's not that bad, seriously it's not. He'll learn real quick what he can and can't do. He'll be fine. The guards are good people, but they do have a job to do. Let me know if I can help with anything...we really don't need to hear so much negativity. Your man will be fine, just keep him in your prayers, and let God take care of the rest.

My husband Justin is in this unit. He's spent most of his 7 years so far in prison at Robertson and said as long as you avoid the troublemakers, you'll do fine. He said the "serious" offenders--those with long-term sentences--are the more well-behaved. He said he'd rather have a murderer as a roommate than some little punk on an aggravated robbery/drugs charge or something, because the ones with less time to do are the ones who act a fool constantly.

I have had positive experiences with visitation there at the unit. Many of the COs are really cool. Contact Warden Eason if you have any issues, NOT Warden Cook.

Default Thanks!

Thanks so much for something positive about the Robertson Unit. My son was just moved there last Friday and I am really worried about him. It sounds like the other places he has been that if you mind your own business you are ok.
