Default Parchman, Death Row info

I thought it would be useful to gather and post info pertinent to Mississippi's death row which is housed at Parchman (MSP). The rules are a different for death row so it seemed that we should collect our info in one spot. Please feel free to add info or give corrections.

Visits: on 1st and 3rd tuesday of each month. Two hour limit but if they are crowded they will shorten the visit. You must be on the prisoner's visit list and you must have a state or federal ID. The visits are no contact. The prisoner will remain shackled during the visit. You will be searched and scanned before leaving the visitor center. You may spend $25 at the canteen.

Mail: No stamps, paper, etc can be sent to an inmate. You must put your return address info on the envelope. No porn, nudity, money oreders, cash, etc can be sent directly to a prisoner. Books have to come from a vender and can't be hardback. They also have a strange rule regarding "internet pages". I believe you can only send two per envelope. If you want to send more you have to use seperate envelopes.

Inmate accounts: At this time, MDOC will no longer allow money orders for deposits. You must use one of the following ways to send money:Here is the info: 1-866-345-1884 or www.inmatedeposits.com Please check with them regarding current fees.
You can also use Western Union for in person deposits. Here is that info:800-325-6000 or visit www.westernunion.com .

Again, if you have info, please post it here.

Mississippi does not accept JPay letters, but they have a similar service. You can use this for letters and to send commissary. The web address is: https://www.accesscorrections.com/

There is a picture service, but I don't think you can send pictures to DR inmates at Parchman via this method.

Mail is delivered to the inmates Monday thru Friday and there mail is sent out Sunday thru Thursday. With this said, sometimes it can take up to two days for their mail to leave the facility.

They can receive holiday packages which are done in the Spring and at Christmas. Each inmate is allowed $100 in items. If two people want to send one person something they can, but it still can't exceed $100.

Marriage is not allowed for death row inmates through MDOC.
