Default New Hotel in Region 1 Franklin CI Carrabelle Florida

The accomadations were slim in Carrabelle although a beautiful city on the panhandle. They just opened a new hotel Franklin Inn only minutes from Franklin CI for about 70.00 a night. That is the most reasonable for the room and area. Hope this helps someone.

the problem for me is i have to book a room for 5 people. my 4 kids and myself. the franklin inn only books room for up to 4 people. i would have to book 2 rooms. i stay at the mainstay suites in pt st joe. it is a little pricey about 150.00 a night but my family can stay in one room and we can cook all our own food. trust me not everything taste like chicken.

Have you tried the Water Street Hotel in Apalachicola? They just opened this past Labor Day Weekend. They have suites, and run specials a lot. I've lived in Franklin County for about 16 years. If you need any info on the area, just ask!

Lack of suitable accommodations for visitors of Florida inmates is a common problem, especially in remote areas such as Carrabelle. Just recently I read somewhere about a company that was going to be offering fully furnished apartments in those areas intended to fill that need. If my memory serves me correctly, the pricing was in line with hotel accommodations. I'll see if I can find the article and, if so, post a link to it.

Try contacting the Franklin Inn in Carrabelle. Their website is www.franklininncarrabelle.com. It was built last year. The rooms all have 2 queen bed, a small fridge and microwave. Their rates are about 66.00 per night plus tax. There's also the Moorings at Carrabelle. Its part of a marina complex, and has small condo units and townhouse units. The units were all renovated about 3 years ago, when Lawton Chile's granson, Buddy purchased the copmplex. I'm not sure WHY they renovated, they were very nice before the renovations...lol They run from about 130.00 plus tax per night to well over 200.00 per night. They have an announcement on their sign that their running a special- 69.95 plus tax per night. The Moorings, however, ususally doesn't run their specials on Holiday weekends.
If you google the moorings at Carrabelle, you can find their website. If The Moorings isn't too high on that weekend, I would definately pick them. Its right on the water, at the foot of the Carrabelle Bridge. They have nice CLEAN swimming pool on property also. There's nothing wrong with the FRanklin Inn, its just your basic Super 8 type motel room. I've heard its very clean. Don't think they have a pool, though. Its also located on Hwy 98, but there's no view of anything, just the highway.

They're both about a quater of a mile from each other, so less than 10 mins, tops, to the prison from either one.

I know you probably have your reservations by now, but The Moorings is offering their rooms now for $69.95 a night all the time. I guess they decided to keep up with the Franklin Inn. The Franklin Inn is a nice place, but my son and I are going to try The Moorings this time. They have a newly renovated motel part now too. It is right on the Marina and all of the balconies over look the bay.

Default Any info on Franklin Inn

Hi, before making reservations for Franklin Inn in Carrabelle, I was wondering if anyone has stayed there. What I would like to know... Do they have a fridge in the rooms? Internet access? Close by places to eat?

I would also like to know some information on places to stay close to Franklin CI...I need one that is dog friendly. I have one service dog and one service dog in training. My service dog is obviously ok to go due to ADA but my younger one that is in training can often times face difficulties since he's not yet certified. Thanks.

My bf used to be at Franklin so I've gone up there many times and have stayed at both the Franklin Inn and the Mooring. I preferred the Mooring bc it's newer and right on the marina so you have a nice view but if u need pet friendly then the Franklin inn would be your best bet. Franklin inn has microwave and fridge and some some of the rooms at the mooring have fridges but not all of them. It is a very small town so options for food are very limited. There is a subway in the local gas station and they have a small local grocery store and a BBQ place but that's about it. Hope that helps

Hey idk if you already made your reservation or anything but franklin inn has a mini fridge and a microwave, i get internet a little it goes in and out and there is a bbq place right next door; i never ate there but i heard its rly good and cheap, theres also a subway in the gas station and some seafood place. they are rly nice at franklin inn, i stay at that hotel every time i visit. and if you wont be there before they close they will work wit you and leave you your key to get in.
