Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Please be aware that, due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo and AOL, we have changed our registration requirements.

Users with email addresses from yahoo.com, yahoo.co.uk and aol.com will no longer be able to use them to create a new account.
We have had a long-standing problems with these mail services and have found that it is almost impossible to send out account activations to new users who have Yahoo or AOL providers.

Please use an alternative email address; hotmail, gmail etc.

Mom from NYC

My 17-year-old foster son has been incarcerated on Rikers Island since 9/18/11. We are waiting for sentencing, don't know what will happen yet. I am so heartbroken and devastated

. Glad to have found PTO and the support of other parents going through the same thing.

Welcome--there i a wealth of information here. Read up in the Green Haven Hub about Downstate prison--likely where he will go when he leaves Rikers. If a non violent vrime he will go to Ulster first in the Sullivan Hub. These are both Reception or processing prisons, He will get sent after that to a regular prison. Read around-information is power.
