Default Info on Parklea?

Hi i found out this morning that my husband has just been moved from John Morony to Parklea even though he is due for release in 11 weeks. i'm afraid this is the first step in moving him to Junee which is where he was supposed to be sent when he was first sentenced back in July 2008. since then he's been to Grafton, Cessnock, LongBay (2 sections) and John Moroney. Now Parklea. Can anyone tell me if guys are being only held there briefly before being transferred to Junee given that Parklea is now owned by the same crowd?

Also what is the deal with phone calls - how long? Visits I've worked out - believe it or not my visit that i had booked for this weekend was transferred with him!!!! and the double booking i had for next week has also been transferred!!!! Amazingly efficient considering what i'm used to.

Am I able to send books or magazines to him? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Becky

Hi becky,
I know at dawn deloas which is at silverwater phone calls are only for 10 mins
I know I cant send books or magazine but parklea maybe different
That’s great that they transferred your visits for you
At least its closer than john morony and I am praying for you that he doesn’t go to junee because of the distance that you will have to travel

Thanks TT
10 mins would be heaven. at every other prison its 6 mins. at long bay you could send magazines and hard cover books but not soft cover (can't work that out). at JM you can't send magazines or hard cover books but you can send soft cover ones. I am still of the opinion that someone at Long Bay misread the instructions they were given from management about the books LOL. i thought it may be different given that parklea is now a private prison (like junee). i have been told that it is now also primarily a "transition centre" where prisoners go before release. i hope and pray that that is why he's been sent there - he comes 11 weeks today woo hoo!

My Friend has been transferred to Parklea recently and there isn't much I could find that is recent. Does anyone know what can be sent to inmates in Parkea in the way gifts or is it best to just put money on the his account. I aways put money on his account so just wanted to do something different (christmas and all). Also what are the rules with christmas cards, I heard some prisons don't allow post cards or christmas cards?

Hey becky was he in JM1 or Jm2.
Parkle has a minimum security work release center they usually send inmates there before release to get them use to the outside world.

Lolz at the shitty one . That's where my partner is to . Your partner is under 25 ? We may have seen each other in that * shitty long line ! That stupid metal detector machine is so annoying why can't they get one of the airport security ones. I love it when I go there and it broken then the line moves so fast .
I heard JM 1 is turning into a drug rehabilitation center

http://www.nsw.liberal.org.au/index....ponent&print=1

Does that mean they will move all the inmates who dont have a history of drugs somewhere else ?
