Default Berks/Leigh Counyt (yes both)

Hi

My son has been arrested in Berk's County and has been there since early Nov and has a retainer for probation violation on him in Leigh. I was told that bail has been set at both counties but that his PO can over ride bail and make him stay even if we post his bail in both counties. I am exhausted w/ the all the confusing info that is thrown at me. I tried calling his PO at 10AM and was told that she left for the day. (BY 10 AM?) Anyone ever heard of anything like this. I was advised by 1/2 the ppl (bail bondsman) that I spoke to that posting bail can be a waste of time. Believe it or not he has an attorney that has confused us more then the court system itself. The only call he returns is for more money. I am broke, weary and confused. We have been hoping desperately to get him into a drug/ rehab program thru TASK while in jail . He went to TASK for help on his own when he realized he was struggling to straight and they had no beds. A month later, our worst fears happened. We have scrimped to post bail and try to get him in rehab but the info has been so conflicting as to wether or not we should even do this. Any thoughts/ advice?

ok i'm guessing your wanting to get bail and then put him in rehab...they will ask if there is any warrents or court order things such as this. Part of the reason is ppl sometimes go to a rehab thinking that will get them outta whatever trouble they were in, to avoid going to prison cuz they are in rehab. However that is still waiting for them once they leave rehab!!

I rlly can't say Don't do it or it's a waste - cuz all honesty i rlly dunno that it's a waste - while he's inside he's getting credit for time served on however long he'll have to stay - he can request drug programs inside (however i dont feel they are near as good as any treament out here) it will show tho that he's trying either way - if he doesn't benifit rlly from the program inside if they give him one, once he's out he could see bout going to a rehab at that time upon release (maken sure his po knows he's going cuz let's face it the last thing he wants is in trouble for not reporting)

as far as the lawyer goes, alot of the time a lawyer will not say much to family as technically the client is the one that's in troulbe - however yes that's not who's paying for the lawyer, but that whole privacy and so forth has your son signed documents that the lawyer can speak to you? This might be why he's not returning calls except for money -

as far as the po being gone that early, maybe she had to go to court today? maybe also some home checks, and some pop up home visits on sum ppl - it's rlly hard to say or maybe she had a vacation planned and had time off starting today at 10am - it is the holiday's and maybe she had her vaca now ya kno?

i know it's all very frustrating and draining and confusing!
hang in there, and try try try not to stress too much (I kno easier said then done tho)
